In the 355th batch of new product announcements of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the "Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Product Announcements", Dongfeng Honda's two star models, Civic Hybrid and New Generation XR-V, were on the list at the same time. Today's program, let's briefly introduce these two Honda brand star cars.
Civic Hybrid
From the perspective of sales in the Chinese market, the share of Honda hybrid models is increasing, and it is approaching Toyota. According to the sales data released by the Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Toyota's hybrid models sold a total of 44,610 vehicles in the first three months of this year, and Honda's 22,990 vehicles; from the data point of view, Toyota is higher than Honda, but if you consider that Honda's star model Civic cannot provide hybrid models before, honda and Toyota's recognition and sales gap in the hybrid market has narrowed.
The upcoming Civic Hybrid model is an important strategic model for Honda in the Chinese hybrid market. Judging from the declaration pictures, the appearance design of the Civic Hybrid is basically the same as that of the fuel version model, and the small size forward grille and the narrow headlight group are the signature designs of its front face, and the front surround adopts a three-point sports shape, and the two sides are equipped with embedded circular fog light groups, which further enhances the sports temperament. The side of the body adopts a three-compartment design, the polygonal tail light set is no different from the fuel version of the model, and the e:HEV logo at the rear shows the identity of its hybrid model.
The Civic Hybrid is 4674mm, 1802mm, 1415mm (1420mm) in length, width and height, with a wheelbase of 2735mm and tire sizes of 215/50R17 and 225/45R18, respectively. Black trims are available for the door handles and headlights, silver housing for exterior mirrors, panoramic sunroofs and black tail spoilers.
In terms of interior design, with reference to the official pictures of the overseas version of the model, the overall design of the domestic Civic hybrid and the fuel version of the model may be basically the same, and the main change is that the hybrid system working status display and the electronic shift mechanism are added to the dashboard. In terms of configuration, although not much official news has been announced at present, its configuration level will not be lower than that of the Civic, and the Honda SENSING safety supersensitive system is even expected to become the standard of all models.
According to the declaration materials, the Civic Hybrid is equipped with a 2.0L engine with a model of FB15 and a maximum power of 105kw. In terms of motors, there is not much news announced at present, but from the existing situation, it is most likely to use the same hybrid system as Accord, and the total power of the system is about 158kw. The main competitor of Civic Hybrid, Corolla Dual Engine, adopts a hybrid system composed of 1.8L naturally aspirated engine + electric motor, with a total system power of 90kw. Judging from the power performance of the Accord 1.5T and 2.0L hybrid models, the linear acceleration of the Civic Hybrid is better than that of the 1.5T model, and it is expected to complete the breakthrough in about 7 seconds. In terms of fuel economy, with reference to the comprehensive fuel consumption of 4.2L per 100 km of the Accord Rui hybrid model, the fuel consumption of the Civic hybrid model should be about 4L.
From the pricing point of view of Yingshipai, in the case of close configuration, The Civic Hybrid will be about 15,000 yuan higher than the price of the 1.5T model, and the 142,900 yuan of the Civic 240TURBO CVT Dynamic Edition is used as a reference, and the Civic Hybrid may be sold at 155,000 yuan.
As Honda's star model, Civic has a total of 36,658 vehicles in the first three months of this year, with an average monthly sales of more than 10,000 vehicles, although the sales volume is not as good as corolla, but the sales content is higher, and the average bicycle price is higher than that of Corolla and Raling.
The Civic Hybrid edition is a model that emphasizes both power and fuel economy, its acceleration is better than the 1.5T model and has lower fuel consumption, and those potential customers who pay attention to performance are also expected to become the owners of the Civic hybrid version.
New XR-V
Along with the Civic Hybrid, the new generation of XR-V, which is also one of the main sales models of Dongfeng Honda, appeared in the catalog. From January to March this year, the total number of XR-V compulsory insurance vehicles was 38,600, and its sister model Binzhi also reached 38,637 vehicles. Judging from the declaration pictures exposed this time, the new domestic XR-V continues the design of the overseas version of the model, and the hexagonal large mouth grille is matched with narrow long lights, and the overall visual effect is good. In overseas markets, the prototype of the new XR-V has two styles of design, but the models currently entering the declaration catalog use a dot matrix front face, and it is not known whether the other front face design is left to Guangqi Honda's new Binzhi.
The side of the body is stretched, a waist line extends from the front headlights to the taillights, the roof and rear of the car are close to the sneakback design, and the sloping C-pillar is similar to the current crown road/UR-V. As with the current model, the rear door handles are still concealed. The overall visual effect of the rear of the car is very full, using a penetrating taillight design, the overall sense and layering are good. The new XR-V is available in 215/60R17 and 225/50R18 sizes, with a wheelbase of 2610mm, 4380mm, 1790mm, 1790mm, 1790mm, 1590mm, and 2610mm, respectively.
In terms of interior, the overseas version of the new generation of Binzhi adopts a simple design similar to the new Civic, using a full LCD instrument and a floating central control screen. The overseas version of the model is also equipped with the latest car machine system, supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and other interconnection functions, and the rear is equipped with "magic seats" to bring better practicality. According to past practice, the interior design of the new domestic XR-V should be basically the same as that of the overseas version.
The new XR-V is currently declared to be a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated model with an engine model of L15CE and matched with a CVT transmission. At present, the three models declared are all front-drive models, and there may be no four-wheel drive versions in the future. In terms of chassis structure, the new XR-V features front McPherson independent and rear torsion beam non-independent suspension.
In terms of price, the new XR-V should not be much different from the current model, and it may even be explored, on the grounds that the starting price of Toyota Corolla Ruifang and Fenglanda is only 129,800 yuan and 125,800 yuan, and the two Toyota SUV use 2.0L engines. Considering many factors, the price threshold of the new XR-V is expected to drop to about 120,000 yuan.
Dongfeng Honda's blockbuster SUV this year is not only the new XR-V, there has been news before that it will import a new SUV close to the positioning of Nissan Qashqai, for this model, from the current known information, it is or the AMERICAN version of HR-V, the official picture of this car has been released.
From the perspective of appearance design style, the New HR-V version of the United States is significantly different from the European version, the hexagonal front grille design is very characteristic, the two rib lines on the engine canopy are very sporty, and with the slender headlights, the overall recognition is very high. The side design of the body is closer to that of a traditional SUV, and the rear door handles are designed in a traditional style. The tail line is rounded and full, and the visual effect is good.
According to the data, the US version of HR-V is based on the Civic foundation to build a model, with reference to the wheelbase of the current Civic, it is expected that the wheelbase of the US version of HR-V is about 2700mm. In terms of power system, the US version of the model is most likely to be based on the combination of 1.5T engine + CVT transmission, and the 2.0L self-priming engine will not give up; after entering the Chinese market, it is likely to retain the 1.5T model and increase the 2.0L hybrid model. In terms of chassis structure, the new HR-V version of the US version adopts a four-wheel independent suspension design, which is a design that consumers like.
XR-V is the star model of the joint venture small SUV market, and the appearance design of the new generation of models that will be launched is tougher and more capable, which is more in line with the image of the SUV in the hearts of the Chinese people. Although the body size has not increased, its spatial performance can satisfy the target customers, and the power combination of 1.5L+ CVT can basically meet the daily transportation needs. If there are no big surprises, the XR-V will still be at the top of the sales list of small SUVs in the future.
