In 2021, HR-V will be replaced again, with a more square shape, a more varied interior design, and a hybrid model in some markets. As the replacement XR-V has been unveiled on the new car, if not surprisingly, the new generation of Binzhi is also fast.

After the third generation of HR-V was launched in Japan and Europe, it has not landed in the United States, one of the traditional markets. At the beginning of this year, Honda finally announced the American version of the HR-V, but this is a completely different model in Japan and Europe.

The previous XR-V/Binzhi was known for its spatial magic and had an amazing spatial performance in its class. In the Civic-based platform, the length and wheelbase will be greatly improved. Especially considering that the Civic already has a wheelbase of 2735mm.

Although specific data have been released, we can reasonably analyze it. The new generation XR-V has a wheelbase of 2610mm, and the next generation cr-V has a wheelbase of more than 2700mm, so that the wheelbase is at least 2650mm, or even close to 2700mm.

The Civic platform adopts multi-link independent suspension, which will also be inherited. The form of independent suspension in front and rear naturally ensures the handling of the new car.

In terms of power, according to the information currently circulating, the 1.5T+CVT powertrain of the same Civic will be used. Referring to the same guangzhou Honda's style, it may also be available only in a high-power version with 182 horsepower. Compared with Nissan and Toyota models of the same class, the natural power performance is better. At present, the Civic Hybrid Edition is about to be introduced, and perhaps the same platform zhizai will also be equipped with the same 2.0L hybrid system in the future.

In the future, the mainstream configuration should also be set in the range of 120,000-150,000, which is similar to the main price range of Qashqai, Fenglanda, Corolla Ruifang and other models. There may also be a minimum of 110,000 or so, and a top-mate of 160,000-170,000.

Whoever the opponent is

To the positioning, the first two years are really not easy to find suitable competitors. As a result, it is a model that fills in the middle of a small SUV and a compact SUV. Among such models, among the Japanese joint venture brands, there used to be only one Qashqai.

And now, Zhi Zai has a very similar opponent, that is, Toyota's Feng Landa and Carola Ruifang two brothers. They are all a little smaller than the compact SUV of the boss, and the space is a little bigger than the entry-level little brother. Today, Fenglanda has a monthly sales volume of more than 7,000 units per month, which fully shows that this market segment is still dynamic.

After Honda returned to its home and design was more convergent, it was a good choice if you still liked the radical sports style of the past. Previously, XR-V and Binzhi, in addition to excellent space, the biggest competitiveness is the appearance. And many people have expressed their dislike for the new generation of XR-V square shape. Rushing to this point, it is worth waiting.

When to come?

So when will Zhi zai come? The time is still undecided, but we can still guess. Previously, it was revealed that Dongfeng Honda's product planning, according to that plan, Zhizai's brother models will be listed in December this year.

And the cause of the early publicity that has begun is earlier than that. At least 1 to 2 months in advance, perhaps at the end of the third quarter of this year, it will usher in the listing. Previously, it has also been revealed that the road test spy photos have been revealed, and the overall degree of completion has been very high, indicating that it is basically ready for mass production. According to the current publicity rhythm, it may be officially listed in the middle of this year, and the postponement to the Beijing Auto Show in June may be the listing or pre-sale date.

The launch of the e:NS1/e:NP1 is still based on fuel models, with obvious traces of transition. In the field of fuel vehicles, although Honda's various models have good sales, it is obvious that there are still many deficiencies in today's increasing segmentation. The hot sales of Fenglanda and Ruifang in March have shown that these models launched for market segments are effective in increasing the overall sales volume of the brand. Come to think of it, this is also an important reason why the Chinese market can gather two different HR-Vs in the global version and the American version.

Honda, which is facing a lot of pressure, has indeed brought us a product that looks good and is quite cost-effective.
