If you don't send a green card from 2023 onwards, you won't be exempt from the purchase tax, is the plug-in hybrid model still worth buying?

Last week, a rumor detonated the automotive circle, that is, "new energy vehicles are likely to no longer be exempt from purchase tax next year". This is another deep-water bomb thrown into the new energy market after the "subsidy decline".

If you don't send a green card from 2023 onwards, you won't be exempt from the purchase tax, is the plug-in hybrid model still worth buying?

From 2023, Shanghai will no longer give a new energy green card to plug-in hybrid models. Beijing, on the other hand, has not given plug-in hybrid models the opportunity to use new energy indicators. (Note: Plug-in hybrid in this article contains extenders)

For pure electric models, if the purchase tax is not exempted from 2023, the person who should buy it may still buy it. Because they are either for the economic considerations of pure electric driving, or because of the policy considerations of blue card restrictions, the exemption from purchase tax is not a decisive factor.

If you don't send a green card from 2023 onwards, you won't be exempt from the purchase tax, is the plug-in hybrid model still worth buying?

But for plug-in hybrid models, the situation is very embarrassing. If you do not send green cards from 2023 onwards, and you are not exempt from the purchase tax, is there still a need to buy mixed- I think that before talking about this issue, we should first have a comprehensive understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of plug-in hybrid models.

"After driving a hybrid, you can never go back", this is the sentiment of many fuel owners after buying a hybrid (the hybrid here also includes unplugged strong mixing).

If you don't send a green card from 2023 onwards, you won't be exempt from the purchase tax, is the plug-in hybrid model still worth buying?

Plug-in hybrid is a form of power that is easy to make a sense of luxury: when the power is sufficient, it has a nearly pure electric driving texture; when the power is insufficient, unless you give the throttle, the noise of the engine is difficult to transmit to the car. To take an easy-to-understand example, the Honda CR-V, which has always paid no attention to sound insulation, can also catch up with the American rivals at the same price after using plug-in hybrids.

In addition, in the urban congestion road conditions, compared with the fuel vehicle needs to frequently pull high and closely follow the situation in front of the car, the plug-in hybrid model is much more relaxed, after all, the low speed is basically driven by electricity. Of course, plug-in hybrid owners should not respond quickly with power and plug others, and be considerate of fuel car owners, especially the kind of fuel vehicles that are not very smart in the gearbox.

There was an interesting incident in the automotive circle, Dongfeng Nissan Tianlai's 2.0T model held a straight-line acceleration race of the same price in Hangzhou, and the prize was 1,000 yuan fuel card. After this matter was known to the BYD Tang/Han car friends group, they directly organized a group to receive the award.

If you don't send a green card from 2023 onwards, you won't be exempt from the purchase tax, is the plug-in hybrid model still worth buying?

The emergence of plug-in hybrid has indeed subverted people's perception of displacement and power. In the past, the displacement not only determined the horsepower and face, but also determined the grade and price, but now, a variety of "dick silk counterattack" emerges in an endless stream. A 2-ton car, with the blessing of a 1.5T engine and dual motors in front and rear, can easily run into 5 seconds, which is unimaginable in the era of fuel vehicles.

If you don't send a green card from 2023 onwards, you won't be exempt from the purchase tax, is the plug-in hybrid model still worth buying?

To say that the first "do not talk about Wude" plug-in hybrid model, must belong to the first generation of BYD Tang, "542" technology also let people begin to recognize the horror of plug-in hybrid models in acceleration. Later, BYD played more and more hi, and various DM models on the road dared to start with BMW M, Mercedes-Benz AMG and Audi S series at every turn, which also once lowered the image of BYD's owner.

If the driving texture and acceleration performance above are the obvious advantages of plug-in hybrid models, then the advantages I want to talk about below may only be known to old drivers.

If you don't send a green card from 2023 onwards, you won't be exempt from the purchase tax, is the plug-in hybrid model still worth buying?

At present, most of the new plug-in hybrid models on the market have their own discharge function. Taking Changan UNI-K iDD as an example, its external discharge power is 3.3kW, which drives the general induction cooker, electric oven and hot water kettle. Friends who usually like to travel by car, buying a plug-in hybrid model is quite appropriate, and unlike pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid has almost no power anxiety, and it is not a big deal to burn more oil.

The second hidden advantage of plug-in hybrid models is also related to self-driving travel, facing high altitude areas, traditional fuel vehicles will have obvious power decline, but plug-in hybrid models because of special operating mechanisms, driving experience is basically the same as daily.

If you don't send a green card from 2023 onwards, you won't be exempt from the purchase tax, is the plug-in hybrid model still worth buying?

If it is a plug-in hybrid four-wheel drive model, the electric four-wheel drive has a faster response speed than the mechanical four-wheel drive on the daily wet and slippery road, and this is also the original intention of many four-wheel drive owners. And compared to mechanical four-wheel drive, electric four-wheel drive requires almost no maintenance.

When it comes to four-wheel drive, many people may dislike the ground protrusion caused by the drive shaft of four-wheel drive fuel vehicles, which is a good solution in plug-in hybrid (including range extender) models. For example, the central platform of the rear row of the ideal ONE is almost flat, which is quite rare in fuel vehicles.

Having said that plug-in hybrid has so many advantages, many people will definitely have objections. For example, "plug-in hybrid fuel saving does not save money", "two sets of systems have a high failure rate" and so on, let's take a look at them one by one.

If you don't send a green card from 2023 onwards, you won't be exempt from the purchase tax, is the plug-in hybrid model still worth buying?

First of all, I admit that the previous plug-in hybrid models had a situation of "excessive power loss and fuel consumption". However, starting from 2019, the newly launched plug-in hybrid models can basically achieve that the fuel consumption of the same level is close to that of the same level of fuel vehicles, and even consistent with the non-plug-in hybrid models of the same level. In this case, it is difficult to plug in hybrid without saving money.

If you don't send a green card from 2023 onwards, you won't be exempt from the purchase tax, is the plug-in hybrid model still worth buying?

In order to put aside the model variables, we will compare the DM-i and fuel version of BYD Song Pro, in which the fuel consumption and power consumption data of 100 kilometers (power loss) are derived from a crowd test website. Assuming that it travels 20,000 kilometers a year, of which BYD Song Pro DM-i has half of the mileage to use electricity and the other half of the mileage to use oil, then its annual energy cost is 5393 yuan. The fuel cost of the BYD Song Pro fuel version of 20,000 kilometers a year is 15,628 yuan, which is about 10,000 yuan more.

If you calculate it this way, considering the difference in price between the plug-in hybrid and the ordinary fuel version, you can save money after three or four years. Of course, if your mileage in a year is too low, the proportion of oil used is too large, or the vehicle's power loss and fuel consumption are higher, the cycle is longer.

Then there is maintenance, most of the plug-in hybrid models currently on the market will calculate the maintenance cycle according to the HEV mileage. For example, the HEV maintenance mileage of THE BYD DM model is 7500km or one year. If you run 20,000 kilometers in a year, only 7,500 kilometers of them use the engine, and you only need to maintain it once. Therefore, the maintenance cost of plug-in hybrid models will not be higher than that of fuel vehicles, or even slightly lower.

If you don't send a green card from 2023 onwards, you won't be exempt from the purchase tax, is the plug-in hybrid model still worth buying?

Many people will worry about the quality stability of the plug-in hybrid model, after all, it has two powertrains, and the probability of failure will be higher. On that, I don't think there's anything to worry about.

First of all, most plug-in hybrid models have a super long warranty specifically for the three-electric system, and some even have a lifetime warranty for the first owner of the vehicle. Secondly, because the engine of the plug-in hybrid model does not have to face the complex working conditions of pure fuel vehicles, the life expectancy will be longer. In addition, the current automobile manufacturing process has been quite complete, unless it is a relatively unpopular plug-in hybrid model, large brand products basically will not have three major problems.

In addition, in terms of performance attenuation, plug-in hybrid models are also much better than pure electric models, which also makes plug-in hybrid models more popular in the second-hand car market. According to the data of "Jingzhen Estimate", the one-year retention rate of BYD Han EV last year was 79.57%, while the one-year retention rate of BYD Han DM was 81.47%, which can be seen.

If from 2023 onwards, plug-in hybrid models are really exempt from the purchase tax, I think the impact on sales is also limited. Before we have always thought that plug-in hybrid models are only a transitional product, but after years of development, more and more popular models have used plug-in hybrid systems, and the loss of electricity and fuel consumption can actually be comparable to Japanese hybrids, and the maintenance of the later period is not difficult, and the power experience of some models is comparable to that of performance cars. So now the question is, if next year's plug-in hybrid is not exempt from purchase tax, nor do you send a green card, will you still choose it?
