April 4 news, recently some network channels released the new SUV ES7 real car map. The new car is NIO's fourth mass-produced SUV model after the ES8, ES6, and EC6, and will be officially released in May this year.
Weilai ES7 is based on the Weilai NT2.0 platform to build, the appearance of the new car and the current Weilai SUV is not much different, the front has been simplified, while retaining the split headlights, X-bar design elements at the same time, canceled the Weilai SUV "figure hu" design, more to the Weilai car design ideas closer.
The side lines have not changed much, and the simplicity is the mainstay, with a new two-color low-wind resistance wheel hub and the continued provision of concealed door handles. The rear part of the NIO ES7 provides a small slipback shape, which is more sporty than the ES6 with the upper rear wing.
In terms of size, the new car positions a large five-seat SUV with a wheelbase between the ES8 and ES6, and is expected to be around 2950mm. Weilai president Qin Lituo has said that the WEILAI ES7 will be released in May to benchmark the domestic BMW X5. The latter was recently listed and started at 605,000 yuan.
The biggest change in the new car is the addition of a hardware system for assisted driving, the roof of the car has the same layout as the ET7 with a "watchtower", including 1 lidar and 2 high cameras, and the car is also the first SUV model equipped with lidar. The new car is expected to be equipped with NAD (NIO Autonomous Driving) autonomous driving technology, based on the NIO Aquila supersensitive system and the NIO Adam supercomputing platform.
The interior part was not disclosed, and from the real car, the new car is equipped with seats with light interiors. Referring to the interior styling of the ET7 sedan, it is expected that the ES7 will be optimized in the central control design, the air outlet will be changed to a hidden design, and a new steering wheel will be replaced, which is different from the ES8 and ES6 models.
In terms of power and endurance, the new car is expected to provide dual-motor four-wheel drive models, and continue to be equipped with batteries with a capacity of 75kWh and 100kWh to adapt to NIO's power exchange specifications.
In terms of price, with reference to the starting price of ES6 models of 358,000 yuan and 468,000 yuan of ES8 models, respectively, it is expected that the starting price of WEIO ES7 will exceed 400,000 yuan.
Li Bin, CEO of WEILAI Automobile, is also very confident in NIO's new SUV. He said at the recent earnings conference that he noted the current demand for more than 400,000 yuan of large five SUVs in the market segment, including the domestic BMW X5, and the NIO ES7 will bring increments to this market through a platform of high performance, luxury and new technology.
