Recently, we learned from Honda China officials that Honda Cars sold 146641 vehicles in China in January, compared with 93.1% in the same period. Among them, Guangqi Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. sold 79,973 terminal vehicles in January, an increase of 18.79% year-on-year; Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. sold 66,668 terminal vehicles in January, down 26.04% year-on-year.
From the perspective of specific models, the terminal sales of ACCORD models exceeded 20,000 units in January; the terminal sales of VEZEL Binzhi, BREEZE Haoying, CIVIC Civic, INSPIRE, CR-V and XR-V all exceeded 10,000 units in January. It is worth mentioning that the Honda SPORT HYBRID dual-motor hybrid system model sold 21,206 units in January, down 4.26% year-on-year.
In 2021, Honda motor vehicles completed 1.56 million vehicles in the whole year, down 4% year-on-year. Affected by the epidemic and chip shortages, it is also relatively good to be able to achieve such results. In the middle of last year, Guangqi Honda was overtaken by Dongfeng Honda, but in the first month of the year, Guangben once again surpassed Dongben. Honda plans to launch 10 new electric models in the next 5 years, and all new models launched in the Chinese market after 2030 will be electrified models. The proportion of pure electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles is expected to reach 40% in 2030, 80% in 2035, and 100% in 2040.
