(hereinafter referred to as "Dongfeng Honda") will build a new plant specializing in the production of electric vehicles. Honda China official news, on January 5, Dongfeng Honda and Wuhan Economic Development Zone signed an investment agreement for a new electric vehicle plant project.

Dongfeng Honda's new plant, located in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, covers an area of 630,000 square meters and is scheduled to start production in 2024, with an initial base annual production capacity of 120,000 units. At present, the basic production capacity of Dongfeng Honda has reached 720,000 units per year.

The new factory plans to build an efficient, intelligent and sustainable new generation of electric vehicle factory, with stamping, welding, painting, assembly, vehicle testing and other complete processes of electric vehicle production, and will introduce new automation technologies in welding, assembly and other processes, with industry-leading automation level. The new plant will also make full use of renewable energy sources such as solar power generation to strive for future carbon neutrality. In addition, measures such as water recycling will be used to conserve resources, and the emission of atmospheric pollutants such as volatile organic compounds will be minimized and sustainable development will be actively promoted.

Official data shows that Dongfeng Honda will have 761879 vehicles in 2021, while the cumulative sales volume of the terminal has reached 793272 vehicles. In 2021, Dongfeng Honda launched a number of heavyweight new cars such as CR-V Sharp Hybrid e+, mid-term redesign of Yingshipai, the 11th generation Civic, the new Alexand, and Honda's first pure electric SUV - e:NS1 also ushered in its debut, and according to the plan, the car will also be officially launched in 2022. With the start of the new plant, it means that Dongfeng Honda will introduce more pure electric models in the future.
