A few days ago, Guangqi Honda has announced the official picture of this new SUV - ZR-V "Zhi Zai". Its homologous model is the current U.S. version of HR-V (the old American version of HR-V is the current Binzhi, after this generation is split into two cars), not surprisingly, "Zhi in" This car will be officially listed in China within this year, positioning between Binzhi and Haoying. The main competitors are the Corolla Sharp, Nissan Qashqa and Volkswagen Tuyue.

However, today's theme is not to analyze the car's market positioning and competitiveness analysis, but to talk about its design (it has not been a long time since we analyzed the design concept and story of a car from this dimension).

As a stylist, out of professional habits, allow me to share a little "metaphysical" insight into the design level (I haven't shown my professional skills for a long time, haha). And the design of the car and the official announcement said that the inspiration came from what kind of connection "Huafu" was.

Breakthroughs and iterations: Honda is also starting to play with surfaces

In my impression, from the beginning of Acura's use of the "big nose" chrome grille as the family design of that generation, the Honda family's design embarked on a design path of using detail addition to portray the brand's patterned features.

For a long time since then, the design impression of the Honda brand is a detailed design composed of complex and unique chrome strips, with LED light sources to break the visual focus of the front and shape.

This design concept has dominated a large number of classic Honda designs, including odyssey, fit, type, etc.

This detail-led, formed vehicle image also allows Honda at this stage to retain a lot of original JDM style.

Friends who like to modify should know that whether it is Fit or Odyssey, only a little modification is needed to express a very strong JDM style.

Models like accords and guandao, which are not so JDM, the embellishment of chrome details invisibly refines the overall texture of the vehicle's modesty and elegance.

Therefore, the Honda design of this era, in the entire automotive circle, is very unique.

However, a mature enterprise will never be set in stone, starting from Haoying, Guangqi Honda's design began to try to highlight the aesthetics of the surface.

Compared with the same door brother CR-V, Haoying uses a stronger curved carving method and visual guidance to strengthen the curved beauty of the body. When it comes to the type, the simple front bumper design has confidently conveyed the beauty of the curved design.

For the vast majority of guangqi honda users, the appearance of the type and haoying is indeed a key factor that promotes their orders.

Now, "Zhi Zai" has officially entered the stage of playing with surfaces.

On the whole, it is difficult for us to find similar details to the previous Honda on the "Zhi Zai", but the style of the whole car reminds us all the time that this is a Honda. From Honda's point of view, their design team also hopes to be able to try to break some conventional design techniques to show the aesthetic leadership of automobile styling with the changes in the aesthetic needs of the times.

We can intuitively see that the design of the "Zhi Zai" front has completely lost the large area of chrome trim as the visual subject of the front shape, and replaced it with a lower polygonal intake grille, and the polygon elements are relatively independent of the headlights, the central intake grille and the air intakes on both sides.

Like the traditional Honda, the headlights of the "Zhi Zai" also continued to be longer than the proportion of ordinary models, but in the layout of the light group, the primary and secondary relationships were emphasized, and it was no longer an array design.

Replacing the connection with an echo is a change made by Guangqi Honda's "Zhi Zai" in the patterned design of the front of the car. Use complex and independent features to break the connection relationship of the front of the car, one is to make it look like a Honda, and the other is to pave the way for the setting of the surface.

The curved body surface and linear composition of "Zhi Zai" are all trying to build a rounded sense of nature.

The curved surface of the car side uses a large curvature change to construct the light and shadow lines. Light and color: "Chinese clothing" design is the same

The original design of "Zhi Zai" originated from the honda New C-SUV project, but the design team wanted to make some changes or challenges in the face of the mainstream of the market at this stage of the pursuit of a tough aesthetic for SUV models.

Therefore, under the guidance of the two qualitative keywords of "Rin" and "Straight", through continuous brainstorming and sketching and clay model production, the design inspiration of "Huafu" finally became "Zhi Zai".

As for "Chinese clothing", we can understand it from two levels.

One is gorgeous clothing, which can include Western evening dresses.

The other is the designation in a relatively narrow sense, which represents the costume culture of our Chinese civilization (Hanfu and Tangfu are the main components), or it can be further derived from the costumes of oriental civilization.

But human pursuit of beauty really has a strong convergence, no matter what the definition of Chinese clothing, it has a common feature - the beauty of the refinement and simplicity of the construction of curved elements.

The skirt pleats of Western-style dresses and the sleeves of Oriental chinese dresses are key elements that form curved changes with the natural sagging of fabrics, bringing about a sense of layering and fabric texture improvement.

The focus of the "Zhi Zai" styling design, or the presentation of the design aesthetic, is jointly constructed by the light and shadow of the curved surface of the body side and the rear shoulder and other areas.

This kind of beauty presented by light and shadow often has a high gloss and high fullness of color to match, and the thickness of the color is an important link.

In the early years, when Mazda played with curved surfaces, it relied on the color scheme of mixed red, and now "Zhi Zai" has developed the color of "Yuanshan Lan" (according to the official interpretation, the pronunciation of "Lan" is consistent with "blue", and the harmonic table color means mountain fog, a mist-shrouded forest impression, a new color with modern texture). This color scheme, relatively fresh and relatively elegant, gives people a calm and intellectual atmosphere.

Calmness and intellectuality: "Convergence" is also a kind of reinforcement

In general, the "Zhi Zai" body mounting design cancels a lot of aggressive elements, and the combination of low roof and small slipback D-pillar is similar to the crown road. The same platform as the Civic also strengthens the visual tension of the lower plate, so the silhouette of the car itself brings a calm and intellectual atmosphere. This is a typical differentiated design, close to the crown road, and distinguished from Haoying Binzhi.

From the perspective of styling design, "Zhi Zai" has played a role in the SUV family matrix of Guangqi Honda, which is a role in connecting the two styles, and its target consumer group will also be a group that has a good feeling for Guandao. In the entire segment of compact SUVs, this positioning is a good distillation of high-quality product characteristics.
