The chairs on Hancun Road were designed by students after online voting and expert review in the 100 Chairs Art Exhibition last year. Each chair has a wall painting with a different pattern as a background, and the wall painting is also used by the street to motivate children to color it.
The most famous of these chairs is the "pony chair" designed by Hu Youqi, a primary school student attached to the Fengjiao Academy. Hu Youqi told reporters that she belonged to horses, so she painted a pony chair, which also means "horse to success". The wall painting of the pony chair draws on the children's memory elements and is designed with the scene of the children's amusement park. Images of carousels, children's slides, Ferris wheels and circus performances can not only resonate with children, but also give children who go to school nearby a beautiful artistic experience.
The chair that can best represent Fengpu Street is the "FENGP Chair" designed by Wu Junyi, a primary school student attached to the Fengjiao Academy, which takes the pinyin letter of "Fengpu Street" as the design concept, and the seat is designed as a columnar seat, with a smooth surface and rich colors, and adults and children can rest and watch. The wall painting behind the chair is based on fengpu's landmark buildings - Fengxian District Youth Activity Center "Flower of the Sea", Fengpu Four Seasons Ecological Park "Downton Manor" and other characteristic buildings as the design prototype, sanitation workers, sanitation vehicles, garbage sorting buckets and so on in an orderly manner, showing the modern urban atmosphere of Fengpu.
The "city" chair designed by Xi Wangqi, a student at Shanghai Publishing and Printing College, is also popular. The chair is mainly shaped by the English letter "city", and the chair of different heights and sizes is used to reflect the inclusive and colorful urban life. The wall painting behind the chair combines the theme of the city chair, with the simple Fengpu architectural line drawing as the design element, embellished with sporadic and lively color blocks, and shows the youthful fashion of Fengpu 'chair street' with rich colors.
The design of Wang Xuanwei, a primary school student attached to the Fengjiao Academy, is a "landscape chair", which is shaped by planting flower beds, with various plants as design elements, combined with the basic functions of the chair, and green plants can also be planted on the chair. The wall painting behind the chair combines the theme of the flower bed chair, and uses flower lining paintings and paintings to reflect flowers to express the charming and vibrant scene of "Rubik's Cube Fengpu".
In addition, the incubation seat and moon chair designed by Xiaotang Primary School student Ci Yimeng are unique in shape and full of childlike fun, and many people like it.
After the unveiling of the chair on Hancun Road, it attracted the attention of passers-by, students and parents along the way. Paddington Kindergarten children visited the chairs and scrambled to say, "I like the pony chair the most, and every day after school I ask my mother to take me here to play for a while." "I love the wall painting behind the hatching chair, the little boy looks a lot like me."
