In order to let everyone have a deeper understanding of the intangible cultural heritage velvet flower production process, Yi Xing, a staff member of the Haitang Street Cultural Tourism Service Center, explained the meaning, process characteristics, process flow and development history, and conducted on-site demonstrations. Velvet flower, homonym "Ronghua", meaning auspicious, blessing, it has a long history, the craft is passed down in the Tang Dynasty, flourished in the Ming and Qing dynasties. 30 resident representatives of the Jiaochangba community in Haitang Street made velvet flowers by themselves, experienced an intangible cultural heritage skill, and made exquisite flowers that will never wither for themselves and their families and friends.
"This is the first time I have made velvet flowers by myself, and through the teacher's explanation, I have initially learned the skills of making, which feels very magical, and the intangible cultural heritage culture is really charming." Xie Qin, a resident of the Jiaochangba community, said.
