New forces and traditional brands are competing for the SUV market

SUVs have been the most talked about market in recent years. Nowadays, new forces and traditional brands are fiercely competing for the SUV market. First-quarter data shows that two of the top three models sold by SUV are new energy models. On the other hand, new energy in the SUV market is also accelerating the replacement of fuel vehicles.

Fuel SUV is starting to give way

In the hottest SUV market, new energy models are accelerating their competition for the head position that once belonged to fuel vehicles. If people still have memories of the past Chinese auto market, they must be able to think of the "generation of god cars" Haval H6, and this model, which has been the first in SUV sales for many consecutive years, even fell out of the top three in the past March.

Haval H6 sold 19,303 units in March, down 43.66% year-on-year, ranking in the top three and only ranking 4th; from January to March, it sold a total of 71,411 units, a decline of 35.75%, ranking third.

After several price increases, the best-selling momentum of Tesla Model Y is still unabated. Ms. Zhou, who recently prepared to buy a Tesla Model Y, said, "When I went to the store to see the Tesla Model Y last year, the price of the rear-wheel drive version was still 276,000. Now look at it, the price has reached more than 310,000." Ms. Zhou also said that although the price has risen, there is still the idea of buying, mainly worried that the price of new energy vehicles will continue to rise.

Catching up with this wave of new energy vehicle welfare, there are ALSO BYD Song series models. In March, BYD Song sold a total of 26,723 vehicles, getting the second place; in the first quarter, the cumulative sales reached 73,704 vehicles, an increase of 127.43% year-on-year, also ranked second, and only 977 vehicles from the championship, is expected to become the champion of SUV sales in the future.

It is worth mentioning that BYD announced on April 3 that it would stop selling fuel vehicles and will continue to make efforts in new energy vehicles in the future. It is understood that among the models sold by BYD Song in the first quarter, they are basically new energy models. It can be said that BYD Song, which became the runner-up in SUV sales in the first quarter, also belongs to the new energy SUV.

Today, the penetration rate of new energy vehicles has exceeded 20%. Next, the substitution of new energy models in the SUV market will be more obvious.
