BYD, price pressure can not stop the strong demand

BYD's new energy vehicle sales were 193655 units in February, compared with 88,283 units in the same period last year, a year-on-year increase of 119%. In the past month, the industry has been hotly discussed that the pressure on BYD's terminal price has begun to loosen, but from the sales data, the purchase demand is still strong. According to the forecast of the Passenger Association, the overall sales of the new energy vehicle market in February will be about 400,000 units, which means that BYD may get close to 50% of the market share that month.

Specifically, a total of 101025 DM models and 90,639 EV models were sold, and sales of plug-in hybrid and EV vehicles continued to balance. Specific to the subdivision of car series, Dynasty and Ocean car series sold 184338 units in February, an increase of 28.3% month-on-month, and the specific data of the two BYD has not been disclosed; The Denza brand sold 7,325 units in February, an increase of 13.8% month-on-month, and a few days ago Denza announced that the Denza D9 EV model increased by 6,000 yuan / unit, indicating that the order demand is still strong. GAC AION's sales in February were 30,086 units, a year-on-year increase of 253% and a month-on-month increase of 195%, an impressive increase and ranking first among new energy vehicle companies that have disclosed data in February. The data that must be referred to is that GAC AION's sales in December 2022 were 30,007 units, and the cumulative sales volume for the whole year of 2022 was 271,000 units, considering the concentration of orders for the national subsidy slope in December last year, which means that GAC AION exceeded 30,000 units again in February is a solid sales recovery.

The new forces are clearly divided

In terms of new forces, Li Auto's February deliveries were 16,620 units, a year-on-year increase of 97.5%, which remained strong. And the ideal L7 has not yet entered the delivery period, and it is expected to start deliveries in March. This means that in the near term, there is hope that the monthly delivery scale of 20,000 units will be achieved and maintained.

NIO delivered 12,157 new vehicles in February, up 42.9% month-on-month and 98.3% year-on-year. In terms of sales volume, NIO has only disclosed 5,037 SUV deliveries and 7,120 sedans. This means that the composition of delivery volume includes many NIO's clearance sales under the large discount on the old ES8, ES6 and EC6, while the sales volume of EC7 and ES7 is not optimistic.
