Suddenly, like a spring breeze overnight, the latest monthly report card of the new car-making forces has opened.

01 Xiaopeng regained the laurel

Xiaopeng won the championship in January, squeezed out in third place in February, and now returned to the first place in March.

In March 2022, Xiaopeng Automobile delivered a total of 15,400 units, an increase of 202% year-on-year; the cumulative delivery volume in the first quarter reached 34,500 units, 2.6 times that of the same period last year; as of March 31, 2022, Xiaopeng's cumulative deliveries have exceeded 170,000 units.

Xiaopeng Automobile's february due to technological transformation deliveries fell 50% month-on-month to 6225 units, and the upgraded Xiaopeng Motors' deliveries in March reached the top again, delivering a total of 15,414 vehicles, an increase of 260% year-on-year. As of March 31, 2022, The total delivery volume of Xiaopeng Motors exceeded 17w units. Among them, in terms of single-model delivery, in March, Xiaopeng P7 exceeded 9,000 for the first time, delivering 9,183 units, creating a new record for pure electric models of new forces. Another hot-selling model, the Xiaopeng P5, delivered 4,398 units in March, with a cumulative delivery of 10,486 units in the first quarter, an increase of 38% over the fourth quarter of last year. The G3 series delivered 1833 units.

Xiaopeng Motors continues to accelerate in terms of intelligence and globalization. The smart home car Xiaopeng P5 ushered in the first large version of OTA, opening the VPA-L cross-floor parking lot memory parking function, which is the industry's first mass-produced and cross-floor intelligent parking.

In terms of the globalization strategy of going to sea, Xiaopeng introduced the new retail model of "direct operation + authorization", opened a direct experience store in Sweden, and officially signed a contract with the European head dealer group to bring a new intelligent travel experience to European consumers.

As of the end of the first quarter of 2022, the cumulative delivery volume of Xiaopeng Motors in history has exceeded 170,000 Units of Xiaopeng Motors in March.

With the hot sales of the P7 and P5 models, it won the top position in one fell swoop.

Xiaopeng P7 bicycle sales of 9183 units in March began to approach nearly 10,000 units, is expected to achieve another new force of a single model of more than 10,000 achievements.

The Xiaopeng P5 delivered 4398 units and the G3 series delivered 1833 units.

Affected by the increase in the price of upstream raw materials, Xiaopeng Automobile announced on March 18 that it would raise the price of the P7 series by 10,000-30,000 yuan, which officially took effect on March 21.

Xiaopeng Automobile has also continued to make efforts in the introduction of new cars. At the 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show, Xiaopeng Motors released its new model, the Xiaopeng G9. The new car will be delivered in the third quarter of 2022.

Just like the significance of the new model ET5 to NIO, the new model G9 will also become an important factor supporting the decline in Xiaopeng sales.

In 2022, Xiaopeng Motors is "ambitious", planning to deliver 250,000 new cars and hit 300,000 vehicles.

Although it is not constrained by production capacity for the time being, based on the continuously rising order volume and the market expectation of annual growth, Xiaopeng is also stepping up the layout of production capacity to increase the scale of delivery.

Due to the technical transformation of the Zhaoqing base, Xiaopeng's delivery volume in February this year was not ideal, and the overall ranking retreated from the first place in January to the third place.

After the spring of 2022, Xiaopeng completed the technical transformation of the Zhaoqing base, and its delivery speed was further improved. Xiaopeng Automobile's Zhaoqing plant, together with the Guangzhou and Wuhan plants under construction, has a total design capacity of 400,000 units, supporting an annual production capacity of 600,000 vehicles through double shifts.

It is reported that as of January 2022, Xiaopeng Automobile has accumulated 813 brand supercharging stations and 166 destination charging stations, connecting all 333 prefecture-level administrative divisions and 4 municipalities directly under the central government.

02 Ideal car, steady to win

Ideal Cars, Ideal Cars remained strong in March, delivering a total of 11,034 Ideal ONE units, up 125.2% year-on-year. Ideal Auto delivered 31,716 new vehicles in the first quarter, an increase of 152.1% year-on-year.

As of March 31, 2022, the total delivery volume of Ideal Cars reached 155,800 units. Ideal has achieved such an impressive result with only one car. ”

Shen Yanan, co-founder and president of Ideal Auto, said that as of now, Ideal ONE has delivered more than 10,000 vehicles for 3 consecutive months. Such achievements can be achieved mainly due to the recognition of users.

According to the new product plan officially released by Ideal Auto, it is expected to launch a full-size luxury range extender SUV - Ideal L9 in 2022, and two pure electric SUVs will be launched in 2023.

Ideal Cars, on the other hand, is developing a pure electric vehicle with super fast charging capability (high-voltage pure electric vehicle) and hopes to make charging faster, cheaper and more accessible under high-power charging networks. According to the plan, Ideal Is developing two high-voltage pure electric vehicle platforms - Whale and Shark, and plans to launch at least two high-voltage pure electric vehicle models per year from 2023.

According to Shen Yanan, in the recent third-party AEB test, Ideal ONE won the annual championship, and achieving such results is the embodiment of Ideal Car's research and development capabilities in intelligent driving. Up to now, more than 70,000 users can enjoy the NOA navigation assisted driving function developed by the ideal car full-stack.

Ideal will build a new base in Chongqing. Ideal is expanding the production capacity of the Changzhou plant and building a manufacturing base in Beijing. Ideal Auto's Beijing manufacturing base officially started construction and is scheduled to start operations in 2023.

Ideal cars have recently been favored by capital. In the third quarter of 2021, BlackRock increased its holdings by 3.1373 million shares, ranking first in the list of increases; Hillhouse added 1.08 million shares of Ideal Automobile; and Bridgewater Fund increased its holdings by 959,700 shares.

In the fourth quarter of 2021, Xiamen Xinweichuang Investment increased its holdings by 6.888 million shares, and Goldman Sachs Group increased its holdings by 6.24 million shares. Moreover, Ideal Auto has now entered The Hillhouse's top ten heavy stocks, gaining an increase of 3.92 million shares to 5.0073 million shares.

03 Weilai, was overtaken by the second echelon

Nio's deliveries in March were 9,985 units, up only 37.6% year-on-year, but slightly inferior to other new forces, ranking fifth.

NIO delivered 25,768 units in the first quarter, an increase of 28.5% year-on-year. As of March 31, 2022, cumulative deliveries of ES8, ES6, and EC6 reached 192,800 units.

From the perspective of delivered models, ES8, ES6 and EC6 delivered 1726 units, 5064 vehicles and 3032 vehicles respectively. The high-end smart electric flagship sedan ET7 began delivery on March 28, and only 163 units were delivered in March.

Regarding Weilai, the two major highlights of 2022 are the release of new models and price increases.

In terms of new models, NIO will have three new cars delivered in 2022 - ET7, ET5, ES7.

The ET7, based on NIO's technology platform 2.0, has already started deliveries on March 28, 2022; the high-hope ET5 is expected to start deliveries in September 2022; and NIO will also release its first NT2-based SUV model, the ES7, in the near future, which is scheduled to start deliveries in the third quarter of 2022.

It can be seen that the pace of NIO's progress in the development of new models has been accelerating.

Et7's first batch of mass production cars officially rolled off the production line, and the starting price of ET7 before the subsidy was 448,000 yuan, but the market reaction is still in a quiet wait-and-see period.

Nio ET5 is expected to become a blockbuster. ET5 is the second car released by NIO Day 2021, will start delivery in the third quarter, positioned lower than ET7, the design is sporty, the vehicle is priced at 328,000 yuan before the subsidy for the purchase of 75kWh battery models, and the price is 386,000 yuan before the subsidy for 100kWh battery models. Judging from the market reaction, it is reported that the ET5 order has exceeded 15w and is expected to become the next explosive car of Weilai.

In terms of price, the 2022 ES8, ES6 and EC6 ushered in a major upgrade, and the upgraded version will be released in late May 2022, and the price will be raised.

NIO will carry out major upgrades to the intelligent hardware of the above models, including 8155 chips, 360 surround view cameras and 5G modules, etc., and the performance will be greatly improved, resulting in an increase in the price of the upgraded model and battery.

In terms of capacity expansion, the second plant of Niolai in Hefei Xinqiao Intelligent Electric Vehicle Industrial Park will be officially put into operation in the third quarter of next year, and the industrial park plans to have a vehicle production capacity of 1 million vehicles / year, a battery production capacity of 100GWh / year, and an estimated annual total output value of 500 billion yuan.

In terms of rear market services, as of March 31, 2022, NIO has deployed 884 substations, 727 supercharging stations and 3832 destination charging piles in China. NIO will continue to expand its charging network to bring a fast and convenient power exchange and charging experience to users in various cities and on the road.

From 2022 to 2025, NIO will add 600 new substations per year in China; by the end of 2025, the total number of substations in the world will exceed 4,000. At the same time, WEIO also announced that it will open the NIO Power charging and replacing system and BaaS service to the industry.

An embarrassing phenomenon is that Weilai's current sales and growth rate are not as good as Xiaopeng and Ideal, and even surpassed by the second camp of Nezha and Zero Run.

04 Nezha & Zero Run, rising star

There is no doubt that Nezha and Zero Run have now become the rising stars of new car-making forces.

Nezha Automobile delivered a total of 12,000 units in March, an increase of 270% year-on-year; cumulative deliveries in the first quarter were 30,200 units, an increase of 305% year-on-year. Among them, the Nezha V series delivered a total of 0.81 million units; the Nezha U Pro delivered 0.39 million units. Up to now, the cumulative delivery volume of Nezha Automobile has exceeded 100,000 units.

In November 2021, Nezha Automobile's first monthly sales exceeded 10,000, and then squeezed into the top three of the new force sales list several times, and the last two months were stable in the second position.

Daniel Zhang, CEO of Nezha Automobile, previously said, "Pure electric SUVs (markets) in the range of 60,000 to 80,000 and 100,000 to 150,000 have achieved the first cost performance." There is no point in surpassing for a short month, and our original brand positioning is a mass market, and it is right to sell a little more than others. ”

In terms of new car development, Nezha Automobile's first high-end model, Nezha S, is scheduled to be launched and delivered within this year.

Judging from the performance of the overall new car-making forces in March, the performance of zero-run cars has attracted the most attention. Zero-run vehicles sold 10,059 units in March 2022, up 192.8% month-on-month, ranking first in terms of growth, while zero-running vehicles delivered 21,579 units in the first quarter of 2022, up 410% year-on-year.

The zero-run T03, which is positioned as a "high-end intelligent pure electric car", is a major attraction and continues to sell well in the same level market. The Zero Run T03 is equipped with Leapmotor Pilot Intelligent Driver Assistance System, Leapmotor OS Intelligent Cockpit, and has 80kW super power and 403km long endurance performance.

In terms of new car development, zero-run cars, the first pure electric medium- and large-sized sedan based on the C platform, Zero-Run C01, is scheduled to be launched in the third quarter.

Under the influence of the Russian-Ukrainian war, the continuous challenge of the global "chip shortage", the continuous recurrence of the epidemic, the increase in raw material prices and the decline of new energy subsidies, China's new car-making forces will still face many tests. Recently, the new forces of global new energy car manufacturing have opened a wave of price increases, what is the impact on the next sales? Time will tell.
