Singapore's Indian community is interesting.

Know that Singapore is both a country known as a "garden city" and a country of immigrants. Among them, Indians are the third largest ethnic group in Singapore, with about 300,000 people, accounting for 9.2% of Singapore's population.

Of course, Indians in Singapore refer to people who have the ethnic ancestry of the South Asian subcontinent and have acquired Singaporean citizenship.

They are not necessarily all from India, but they are basically of Indian descent, so they are collectively called "Indians".

So in Singapore, there is a place called "Little India", which is a gathering place for Indians.

Although this "Little India" place is not large, the Indian atmosphere of the whole neighborhood is still very strong, suggesting a cohesiveness, and it seems that the taste of India is almost completely copied - whether it is color or style, it is really too Indian.

The first is color – you know, Indians are particularly fond of all kinds of intense, saturated colors.

So Singapore's "Little India", its neighborhoods are extremely diverse, white, red, green, gray...

And that's not all, Indians here will also paint their own facades different colors in different seasons according to their own mood.

Indians also have a special fondness for gold – because Indians see gold as a symbol of wealth and status, like to accumulate gold, and like to wear gold jewelry.

So in Singapore's "Little India", you can see a lot of gold shops.

However, I don't recommend buying gold in these gold shops.

Because the gold style here is similar to that of India - the purity is not very high, basically at 66.6%, which is 16K gold.

Therefore, although these gold jewelry has been created in various styles, extremely bright and dazzling, the purity is actually insufficient.

Anyone who has traveled to India knows that many neighborhoods in India are dirty and messy.

But Singapore's "Little India" is fully organized and the streets are clean and tidy.

This is a typical example of how the environment can change people.

However, in Singapore, most of the local Indians are engaged in some heavy manual labor, so they still have some concerns about their identity.

In order to preserve their sense of belonging, these Indians are trying to preserve the culture, customs, beliefs and living habits of their country.

This point is actually similar to the Chinese Chinatown overseas.

As we all know, Singapore is a country with tough laws.

Therefore, the rate of indians in Singapore is also much lower than that of India itself.

Security is good throughout Singapore, including this "Little India" in Singapore.
