From January 15 to February 27, 2022, the "Return to See Your Own Mountain: Lin Feng Customs and Lingnan Landscape Painting Language Exploration Special Exhibition" sponsored by Shenzhen Guan Shanyue Art Museum was exhibited in the first floor and Hall C of Shenzhen Guan Shanyue Art Museum.
As a new topic of Guan Shanyue Art Museum's "Guan Shanyue and 20th Century Art Research", this exhibition is based on Guan Shanyue Art Museum's newly collected Chinese paintings of Lin Feng customs, and explores Lin Fengfeng's exploration of the language of Lingnan landscape painting in the 1960s and 1980s. The exhibition revolves around Lin's exploration process, divided into four major sections: "From college to mountain village", "Traveling thousands of miles", "between lakes and mountains" and "Where is the family mountain", through a large number of real photos and works, documents, manuscripts, especially the painter's tempering of the same theme and the change from real scene to painting to present the painter's creative process and exploration process.

From the college to the mountain village
In 1959, Lin Fengfeng left his hometown of Chaozhou and was admitted to the Chinese Painting Department of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, becoming one of the first undergraduates majoring in landscape painting. In 1964, Lin Fengfeng graduated from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and was assigned to work in Huaiji, a mountainous area in northern Guangdong. Until 1972, by chance, he was sent to Guangzhou to participate in the "National Fine Arts Exhibition to Commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Chairman Mao's Speech at the Yan'an Literary and Art Forum", and the two works "Shigu Xintian" and "Commune Holiday" were born at this creation.

Lin Fengfeng's works from the guangzhou academy of fine arts to the Huaiji period can be seen from the transformation of his Lingnan school style language after experiencing the accumulation of long-term mountain life, and since then, the tone of mountain life has always accompanied his future artistic exploration, becoming the source of his inspection of what he has learned, explored and thought, and expressed his feelings.
Travel thousands of miles
Between 1977 and 1978, Lin Fengfeng participated in the creation of "Zunyi Dawn" and "Ode to the Peasants' Lectures" as a painter in the Guangdong Group of the Chinese Painting Creation Group of Chairman Mao Memorial Hall led by Guan Shanyue and Li Xiongcai. He has successively lived and sketched in many provinces such as Hunan Province, Qian, Shaanxi, Sichuan, and Yunnan. For Lin Feng customs and Lin Feng customs, this sketching experience is a personal experience of different landscapes and scenery of the motherland's mountains and rivers, and it is also a test of his own pen and ink language, which can be described as "reading thousands of books and traveling thousands of miles". The different landscape characteristics presented by different landforms have also contributed to Lin's self-adjustment of pen and ink language to a certain extent. The natural scenery outside Lingnan, or majestic and beautiful, or unfathomable, or vast and colorful, brought new visual stimulation and inspiration to Lin Shi, and also provided a clearer understanding for him to determine the theme of "his own mountain" in the future.

Between lakes and mountains
In 1975, Lin Fengfeng left Huaiji, where he had lived for nearly a decade, and entered the Zhaoqing Regional Cultural Center to work. He began his quiet years of settling at the foot of Dinghu Mountain and on the shore of Xingyan Lake, until he left Zhaoqing and returned to the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts to teach.

Zhaoqing ancient name Duanzhou, known as the famous county of western Guangdong, the West River runs through it, Dinghu Mountain and Seven Star Rock (Star Lake) is a famous place of interest here, not only for the literati chanting, but also for Lingnan painters depicted, such as Gao Jianfu, Chen Shuren, Guan Shanyue, Li Xiongcai, etc. There are excellent landscapes depicting Dinghu Lake or Seven Star Rock. These also provide lin fengfeng's depiction of the scenic spots around him as a reference language resource.

Home mountain where
After the precipitation of time and social tempering, he began to gradually find a way to explore landscape painting that was suitable for his personal interests. Based on his special feelings for "his own mountain", he used his own way to break the barriers of literati pen and ink on the basis of the original emphasis on sketching and the combination of pen and ink language and form in the Lingnan School of Painting, absorbing folk colors and integrating modern visual concepts, thus forming his own appearance.
"Sunset herbs are commonplace, and the solution is a wonderful word" is a poem that resonates with Lin Feng," expressing his interpretation of the "wonderful" painting landscape, which is hidden in the most everyday scenery around him. Although the scenic scenery of the famous mountain is extraordinary and unique, the kindness and warmth of the ordinary family mountain seem to be the motivation that inspires him and the "peach blossom source" that he explores in his heart.

Lin Fengfeng (1939-2017) was an outstanding and far-reaching Chinese painter and art educator in modern Lingnan. As one of the first batch of Chinese landscape painting painters trained by the education system of the New China Academy of Art, he was personally taught by Guan Shanyue and Li Xiongcai of the Lingnan School, and at the same time, he was able to absorb other genres of art under the college system and form his own independent thinking. While inheriting the realistic tradition and reform and innovation of the Lingnan School, it also integrates the new concepts and new forms of literati brush and ink and modern art language in modern times, forming a distinct personal style. His artistic achievements represent a new understanding of modern Chinese landscape painting since China's reform and opening up, starting from the spirit of traditional landscape painting.
