Of course, watercolor painting creation does not need a storyline and content, and the painting does not need to have continuous readability, first of all, to define its attribution and category. As far as the work is concerned, the composition, color, and technique are used relatively uniquely, the characters are slightly deformed, the expressions and dynamics meet the needs of the composition and the plot, and the colors borrow from the colors of the chromatic prints, which are concise and clear. A thought or emotion that precedes the formation of the language of painting, a moment of transition between this emotion and language, like dawn and dusk, contains infinite inspiration and eternal characteristics. Water-based pigments, on the other hand, are an infinite and limited spiritual exploration and collective memory and experience to find commonalities, creating images that are deeply connected to the heart. Combining this exploration of the nostalgia and healing that human experience brings to trauma and pain softens the dark themes of the storyline in the work.

Creation is a space of self-healing and breathing, revealing weaknesses in meaning by tearing the painting apart and reconstructing it, a process that is likened to a visual and physical way of thinking, with connotations evolving with new developments. Contemporary painting has long been not a depiction of graphicism, but the crystallization of human civilization such as philosophy, literature, and science and technology echoes the future development of current society, which has long been the answer left by Cézanne, the father of modern painting, 150 years ago. Paying attention to the spirit of independent thinking is the basic quality of being an artist, and the artist Wang Yiyi has done a good job in this regard. In her creation, she constantly deconstructs and reorganizes her understanding of literary works and the joys and sorrows of the current social reality in parallel time and space, and forms them into her latest painting language. As a curator, her works do have their own thinking highlights, and I hope that in her future career, she can break the boundaries of art and try more works with independent thinking and deep artistic philosophy.
