On April 30th, under the guidance of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province, the provincial special fund support project for the protection of intangible cultural heritage, and the series of cultural brand activities of the Guangdong Provincial Cultural Center (Guangdong Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center) that have been held for two consecutive years, the festival "sigh" intangible cultural heritage, kicked off again.
On the morning of April 30th, at the first intangible cultural heritage experience class, Mr. Li Min, a representative inheritor of Cantonese embroidery (Guangdong embroidery) at the municipal level, told the students about the history and development of Guangdong embroidery, introduced the process theory of Guangdong embroidery in detail, and displayed it on the spot.
As one of the treasures of Lingnan culture, Guangdong embroidery, with every stitch and thread, not only presents the traditional aesthetics of Lingnan as an ornament, but also carries the unique connotation of Lingnan culture.
After understanding the basics, the students picked up the fans and began to experience the Guangdong embroidery needlework. Through the meticulous and patient guidance of teacher Li Min, the students also added their own creativity and ideas in the embroidery process, and beautiful pictures jumped out on the fan.
Through this Guangdong embroidery experience class, not only let everyone appreciate the unique charm of intangible heritage traditional skills at close range, but also let everyone have a deeper understanding of the unique connotation of Lingnan traditional aesthetics.
The "May Day" Labor Day series of activities carried out 5 intangible cultural heritage experience classes in the small theater of the Guangdong Provincial Culture Center, namely Cantonese embroidery (Cantonese embroidery), Tongcao watercolor painting technique, Guangzhou clay sculpture, Xiguan water diamond angle making technology, Cantonese firing and selling production technology, with rich content and diverse forms.
Next, during the Dragon Boat Festival, Qixi Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Chongyang Festival, National Day, 2023 New Year's Day, Spring Festival and Lantern Festival, around the characteristics of festivals, will also launch "Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Classroom", "Intangible Cultural Heritage Market", "Intangible Cultural Heritage Scenic Spots", "Cloud Appreciation of Intangible Cultural Heritage", garden tours, special exhibitions, intangible cultural heritage story meetings and more fresh and interesting activities, continue to inject new vitality into traditional festivals, so that intangible cultural heritage can be integrated into the lives of the people.
