I read Inkkin's landscape paintings

Meng Qingjiang/Wen

Mo Jin, a landscape painter from Shandong, was introduced by Mr. Jin Song, the editor-in-chief of The Children of the Orient magazine, and asked me to write some comments on his works. I didn't know this middle-aged painter beforehand, and I had little contact with landscape painting, so I said, after I read your works, I will paint on the paintings, talk about my superficial feelings, and write a few words in the vernacular. So he left me many photos of his landscape works.

Mokin was a prolific painter who left me with only a part of his own work (album or photograph) that was enough for me to read for a few nights. According to my own experience, if I want to be productive, I have to pay hardships, I have to sleep and forget to eat, and I have to persevere in struggle. Mo Jin painted so many huge landscape paintings, and the sweat of his artistic labor is probably "incomparable"! There is a conceptual problem here, in order to express the famous mountains and rivers of the motherland, it is necessary to go deep into life, and to personally experience the unity of the spiritual essence and image appearance of its landscapes and rivers.

With the continuous unfolding of these paintings, whether it is the "flying stream down three thousand feet" of the Yellow River, the "spring tide of the Gorge River" of the Yangtze River, the yunsong of Mount Tai, the autumn colors of Yimeng, or the "valley in the mountains" and "the deep mountain retreat" that express the living environment, and then the "Fengqiao Night Berth", "The Moon Night of the Immortal Mountain" of the Buddha Immortal Realm, etc., all show that the painter is indeed "reading thousands of books and walking thousands of miles", just as Shi Tao said "searching for the Qifeng and making drafts", which not only conforms to the conventions of artistic practice, but also the essence (connotation) of artistic creation.

These landscape paintings of Mo Jin, looking at their potential from a distance, are well-layered, rigorous in their rules, and have a sense of lushness and thickness, and a sense of grandeur; Looking at its quality up close, the village pavilions, the mountain stone forest, the small bridge flowing water, the waterfall spraying, or the clouds and smoke, the moon color, all render a mysterious artistic conception. It can be seen that this is the result of the painter's artistic sublimation of the beauty of nature, from "micro" to "macro", through his own inner feelings.

We say that the painter's "ink is like gold" is the highest level of artistic accomplishment. However, when Ink Gold paints, he is willing to use ink, which is the true meaning of his understanding of using ink, and this kind of cultivation is not something that shallow knowledge and skills that cannot be done at home. In the history of modern art, Mr. Huang Binhong is a master who is good at using ink, Binhong's paintings, thick black tones, layers of ink accumulation, over and over the dot dyeing, accumulation and deepening, so that there is ink in the ink, color and ink blending, deep and transparent. Mo Jin's landscape paintings seem to have the same magic, but they are not as strong and old as Master BinHong.

I also thought of another master of landscape painting, Mr. Li Keyan, whose works were also "black" to home. In addition to being good at using accumulated ink and broken ink, he paints more and more transparently, and the more he draws, the thicker he draws; He is also good at using pens, and each stroke is like an iron nail, "nailed" to the paper without hesitation. Mo Jin's works can also be seen in the ink, and the dots and dyes are clear. It's just that Mr. Ke Dye's penmanship is like cast iron, Mo Jin is young, the road to artistic practice is still very long, he follows the master, will definitely go all the way up, I believe this.

In addition, Mo Jin's landscape paintings, especially his cloud and mist treatment, are sometimes rendered and sometimes outlined, and seem to be the true biography of Mr. Lu Yanshao.

Speaking of this, I have to sum it up realistically: the ink gold master is the ancient, and he has the guidance of modern masters, but after all, he was created by nature and painted his own style, and at first glance, this is the painting of ink gold, not the flip board of other people's works, which is not easy. "Taking the strengths of the ancients is already there", this is the master's teaching, Andijin still needs to make unremitting efforts to truly achieve "a unique path and a family of its own". Among the thousands and thousands of landscape painters today, who can be regarded as the "best", there will be public opinion, I only suggest that the art world should pay attention to the reality of young and middle-aged painters with strength such as Mo Jin, and cannot only "lock" their eyes on the regular customers on the throne of "celebrities".

I wish Megkin even more success!
