In the Spring Festival of 2023, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage will continue to organize museums across the country to carry out a series of activities to celebrate the New Year in museums. Up to now, more than 900 museums in 19 provinces including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong and Hubei have planned and launched more than 2,200 exhibitions and activities, and more museums will participate during the Spring Festival.

It is understood that since the launch of the New Year series activities in the museum in 2019, it has been organized for three consecutive years, becoming one of the important brand cultural activities during the Spring Festival.

This year is the Year of the Rabbit in the Lunar Zodiac, and museums around the world have launched a series of more than 300 exhibitions and activities around the theme of the Year of the Rabbit, so that the public can better feel the strong atmosphere of traditional festivals. Such as the National Museum of the Year of the Rabbit themed e-card online interactive activities, Tianjin Natural History Museum Rabbit zodiac exhibition, etc. At the same time, all localities have also closely focused on the in-depth study, publicity and implementation of the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, launched nearly 100 themed exhibitions and social and educational activities, and better played the role of museums as educational fronts. In terms of display exhibitions, museums have launched more than 800 exhibitions of various kinds, in addition to making full use of basic displays, they have also launched a series of temporary exhibitions and special exhibitions that closely follow the theme. For example, the Revolutionary Cultural Relics Department of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and the Propaganda Department of the All-China Women's Federation jointly launched the joint exhibition of revolutionary cultural relics entitled "Inheritance, Continuation and New Journey", and Gansu organized museums in the province to hold more than 20 temporary exhibitions to further enrich the cultural supply during the Spring Festival.

In terms of social education, museums have launched nearly 100 educational exhibitions and activities, such as the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road Museum's "Dazhan Hongtu" series of public education videos, and the special education activities on patriotism education at the Memorial Hall of Lin Boqu's Former Residence in Hunan Province.

Museums around the world combine local folk culture and traditional handicrafts, and also launch a series of folk customs experience activities, forming a new cultural trend with significant regional characteristics. Such as the traditional velvet flower making of the Capital Museum, the printing of New Year paintings at the Beijing Art Museum, and Hanfu origami in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum.

During this year's Spring Festival, the extensive use of scientific and technological means by museums around the world is the biggest highlight worth looking forward to. More than 300 museums across the country will integrate online and offline resources through cloud exhibitions, cloud live broadcasts, cloud activities and other forms, so that more audiences who cannot attend in person can feel the charm of the New Year in museums. For example, the Yunyu Study and Cloud Viewing Exhibition of Tianjin Museum, and the "Royal Kiln World - Blue and Flower Secret Realm" exhibition of the Royal Kiln Museum in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province.

In addition, museums around the world also send the joy and warmth of the Spring Festival to thousands of households by sending culture into communities and villages.
