A few days ago, Xiaobian learned from the extranet that BMW is preparing to expand into the high-end electric market through the upcoming iX1 SUV, and the new car will be listed with the new generation of fuel-powered BMW X1 at the end of this year.

The new car is an all-electric version of the X1. At present, BMW has not officially released the technical specifications of the new car, but judging from the fact that it is equipped with an electric drive system similar to the iX3, the new car will be built based on the UKL2 front-drive platform, equipped with an 80 kWh battery pack and a 282Ps electric motor.
It is worth mentioning that for the new generation of X1, BMW plans to adopt the same strategy as the next generation of 3 Series, 5 Series and 7 Series, in addition to electric vehicles, it will also offer gasoline, diesel, hybrid and plug-in hybrid models to meet the needs of different consumers as much as possible.
Although BMW has not yet released any official pictures of the new car, the spy photos show the appearance of the finished car very well. The appearance of the new car is almost the same as that of the new generation X1, the only difference is the use of a heat-insulated radiator grille and a shaped rear drapery, which eliminates the exhaust design.
Through spy photos, we can also see that the new car seems to use the same vertical bumper air intake as the iX3, creating a family "face" for its electric SUV. In addition, it features high-efficiency alloy wheels designed with aerodynamics and a unique badge that indicates its purely electrical identity.
In terms of interior, the new car will have the same interior layout as BMW's latest 1 Series hatchback, and will be equipped with more vents, as well as BMW's latest 10.25-inch infotainment system and digital dashboard.
At the same time, the BMW Group decided to expand its electric fleet in response to a reduction in its overall carbon footprint, which will reduce CO2 emissions from its supply chain by 20% in 2030 compared to 2019, while co2 emissions from its plants and other sites will also be reduced by 80%.
Regarding pricing, BMW has not yet released relevant information. However, to be among the peers, it is necessary to have a good price advantage, referring to the main competitor models Mercedes EQA and Volvo XC40 P8 charging series starting at 45645 pounds and 43550 pounds respectively, and the starting price of the new car is about 45,000 pounds (equivalent to 379,000 yuan).
The new car is still quite expected, and if it can maintain a more competitive price after listing, it will be more sought after by consumers.
