【March 2022 Korean car sales ranking】In March this year, Korean car sales continued to decline, and sales fell sharply year-on-year. According to the data of the Car Purchase Network Editors' Comprehensive Passenger Association, the wholesale sales of the Korean car market in March 2022 were only 28,251 units, down 39.3% year-on-year, and the sales volume decreased by 18,265 vehicles; compared with February, which was affected by the Spring Festival holiday, the sales volume also increased slightly by 2.6%.
According to the data, hyundai Elantra is still the best-selling Korean car, but its sales are only 5,080 units, down 55.6% from the same period last year. In the first quarter of this year, Elantra's cumulative sales of 15,931 vehicles were only equivalent to about half of the sales level of the same period last year.
The second to fourth Korean cars are also from Beijing Hyundai, of which Hyundai Tucson sold 3719 units, ranking second, down 8.4% year-on-year; Hyundai ix35 sold 3636 units, ranking third, sales were not as good as before, down 55.7% year-on-year. The Hyundai Yuedong is a relatively stable model in sales, with sales of 3217 vehicles in March, ranking fourth.
The six models ranked fifth to fourth are all from the Kia brand, of which Freddy, a Kia veteran, will become the sales champion of the Kia brand, with sales of 2168 units in March, an increase of 132.5% year-on-year. Kia Huanchi followed, with sales of 2,101 units in March, and Kia SmartCar sales of 1,959 vehicles, ranking seventh, a slight increase of 2.2% year-on-year.
In addition, Kia Yipao, Kia KX3 Pride Andot, and Kia K3 all sold more than 1,000 vehicles, with 1622, 1472 and 1014 vehicles respectively, with flat sales.
In terms of newly launched MPV models, Hyundai Kustu sold 853 units in March, unchanged from the previous month and not as good as sales in previous months. Its sister model, Kia Jawa, sold 249 units in March, a large gap with The Kustu sales.
In the past two years, the sales of the new generation of new models have not been satisfactory, with sales of only 483 kia K5 units, down 28.4% year-on-year; Hyundai Sonata sales as low as 141 units, down 78.7% year-on-year; and the new generation of famous pictures listed last year, with sales of only 16 units in March, far lower than the sales of 1733 vehicles of the previous generation in the same period last year.
Hyundai Rena and Hyundai ENCINO have been discontinued due to unsatisfactory sales, while hyundai Pfister and Kia KX7 models have also sold zero for three consecutive months.
