At the same time, the lithium ion content of the battery should also be increased accordingly in order to maximize the efficiency of the battery. Therefore, a large-capacity battery, lithium consumption and nickel consumption will be relatively high.
This has also led to a relatively large price increase in models with relatively large battery capacities, such as Tesla Model Y and Xiaopeng P7.
But why is it that the same model with large batteries, BYD's price increase is much smaller than the above model?
This is the difference in principle between ternary lithium and lithium iron phosphate batteries.
The cathode material of ternary lithium batteries is nickel cobalt manganese oxide, which not only contains lithium, nickel is also a very important raw material. In the case of lithium and nickel raw materials are rising in price, so in the case of high nickel and lithium consumption, ternary lithium batteries are more affected by the rise in raw material prices.
However, the positive electrode of lithium iron phosphate only needs to use lithium, a relatively rare metal, so in terms of cost, lithium iron phosphate batteries are slightly lower than ternary lithium batteries.

As for enterprises like the Ningde era that sell batteries as their main business, the rising cost of battery raw materials can only be directly reflected in the battery supply price. And the current car power battery supply gap is still very large, many car companies, especially the new car-making forces that have just been established for a long time, have only such a choice. Therefore, many models that use the battery of the Ningde era have a relatively high price increase. It is not difficult to understand that the price of Wuling Hongguang MINIEV 13.9kWh small battery has increased by 4000.
You can find that in addition to the price increase of more than 20,000 or 30,000 models like Tesla Model Y and Xiaopeng P7, PHEV models like the ideal ONE have a lot of price increases.
Among the PHEV models, the price increase of the extended-range hybrid model represented by the ideal ONE and the Landu FREE is relatively large.
