In order to make every effort to build a service platform for college students' employment and internship, and do a good job in serving cross-strait and Hong Kong, Macao and overseas Chinese youth, on May 8, with the support of the Shanghai Municipal Taiwan Affairs Office, the Municipal Education Commission, and the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the Yangpu District People's Government and the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology jointly held the 2024 Cross-Strait, Hong Kong and Macao Overseas Chinese College Students Internship and Employment Special Job Fair, which attracted many job-seeking college students to participate.
The reporter learned that the job fair has many positions and frequent highlights, gathering more than 130 state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, Taiwan enterprises, foreign enterprises and other employers in the city, providing more than 400 positions in finance, Internet, trade and retail, education and training, etc., and the number of people in demand has reached more than 3,000.
Before the job fair, job-seeking college students can preview the participating companies, post positions and salary ranges in advance through the online mini program, and add their own "intention list" in a targeted manner to improve the efficiency of job hunting. "I learned about the participating companies in this job fair online in advance, so that I can be targeted, and this can also improve the efficiency of my communication with human resources." Xiao Lu from the School of Energy and Technology of Shanghai for Science and Technology said.
Xiao Hong is a Taiwanese student currently studying editing and publishing at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. Knowing that this job fair was a special event suitable for me, I came to the scene as soon as possible. Referring to the main aspects he focused on when choosing a career, he said, "Editing and publishing is a field that requires high professional skills, and I need to constantly improve my professional level through practical experience. In this process, I pay more attention to the geographical aspect, because first-tier cities have a large number of publishing institutions, media companies and cultural industry enterprises, and the industry concentration is high, and there are more relative opportunities. ”
It is worth mentioning that for the first time, the Shanghai Taiwan Association participated in the job fair in a joint recruitment mode, organized industry associations such as big health, sports and leisure, finance, catering and cultural and creative industry associations, and brought a number of Taiwanese enterprises such as Shanghai Jibao Education Information Consulting Company, Yonghe Food (China) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Senling Business Service Co., Ltd., and Lujiazui Cathay Life Insurance to participate in the recruitment. The Yangpu District Fuqi Youth Development Center, a Taiwanese youth start-up enterprise, also launched the promotion of the "Shanghai-Mingtai Youth Township Innovation Practice Base Project" and the recruitment of rural managers on the spot, becoming one of the most popular booths.

In addition, special service areas such as "Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Overseas Chinese", "Career Guidance" and "Entrepreneurship Mentor" were also set up on the site to provide one-stop consulting services such as internship, employment, entrepreneurship and life in Shanghai for young people from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese who came to seek employment.
"We will continue to track and guide, provide accurate services, and 'connect' employment recruitment, job search training, and career guidance, from the guidance of college students' employment concepts, socialization ability training, job supply docking, and then to college students' employment and entrepreneurship services, and build a 'internship + employment recruitment' entrepreneurship and happiness whole-process empowerment model, and further improve the accuracy of services for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese students and the efficiency of supply and demand docking." The relevant person in charge of the site introduced. Since its launch in 2023, the chain service has achieved remarkable results and is showing an orderly progress. This year, Yangpu will continue to deepen and expand the content of this work.
According to statistics, since 2015, Yangpu District took the lead in holding a special job fair for college students on both sides of the strait in Shanghai, and so far a total of 1,451 enterprises have participated, providing more than 20,000 jobs and more than 1,000 internship positions, more than 19,000 people have participated in the application, and nearly 5,000 people have reached employment and internship intentions. In the future, Yangpu will continue to do a good job in serving young people from both sides of the strait and Hong Kong, Macao and overseas Chinese, so that young people from Shanghai, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese can feel Yangpu's determination and sincerity in attracting, cultivating, employing and retaining talents.
