1. CDC continuously variable damping damper blessing, comfort is still the same

The ideal L8's suspension system combination is a double wishbone at the front and a five-link at the rear. The suspension is composed of elastic elements, shock absorbers, guide mechanisms and other parts, of which the elastic elements and shock absorbers jointly undertake the task of cushioning and damping. To improve driving comfort, it is necessary to properly match the stiffness of elastic elements with the damping of shock absorbers.

The ideal L8 Air uses coil springs as an elastic element, while the Pro and Max models use gas springs. For different elastic elements, the Ideal Automotive product team has made exclusive adaptations to ensure the best driving experience for all models.

The ideal L8 Air's coil spring rate calibration fully considers the use scenarios of home users, with a smooth and comfortable body as the main goal, and an optimized CDC continuously variable damping shock absorber, in most use cases, the ideal L8 Air's vibration isolation performance is no less than that of the Pro and Max models.

The shock absorbers on the ideal L8 Air are CDC continuously variable damping dampers, in line with the ideal L8 Pro and Max. Looking at the luxury medium and large SUV market, CDC shock absorbers generally only appear on high-end models such as BMW X5 L and Mercedes-Benz GLE, and the ideal L8 Air is the only SUV with CDC shock absorbers as standard in the price range of 300,000-350,000 yuan.

CDC shock absorbers can change the damping magnitude by changing the damper oil resistance by controlling the solenoid valve current. The ideal L8 Air's CDC damper control algorithm combines signals from 26 sensors such as wheel end accelerometer, steering wheel angle, throttle status, ABS status, etc., to adjust the damping of the shock absorber in milliseconds to ensure consistent comfort.

The fully self-developed CDC shock absorber control algorithm solves many problems in real driving. For example, the pitch control algorithm alleviates the problem of motion sickness caused by vehicle acceleration and head up and brake nod; The roll control algorithm weakens the lateral shaking; The undulation control algorithm allows the ideal L8 Air to maintain a smooth stance when passing through undulating surfaces. CDC shock absorbers also have OTA potential, allowing for more settings to be developed over time based on family travel needs.

Due to the lack of air springs and matching body height sensors, the ideal L8 Air cannot realize functions such as automatic body height adjustment, convenient getting on and off the car, and convenient loading of the trunk. With off-road mode on, the chassis of the Pro and Max models can rise by 40mm for better passability.

Like the Pro and Max models, the ideal L8 Air also supports three-speed suspension comfort adjustment, "comfort", "standard" and "sport" are all relative concepts. Compared with the standard mode, after cutting to the comfort mode, the damping of the shock absorber is weaker, and the body action is more soothing and relaxed; After switching to Sport mode, the damper is more damped and the body action is more stable and calm. Regardless of the mode used, the suspension always maintains good control of the body and effective isolation from vibrations.
