According to the association data, the wholesale sales of China's own brand SUVs in February 2022 were 375,000 units, an increase of 19.4% over the same period last year; compared with 589,100 units in January, it fell by 36.3% month-on-month, and sales decreased by 214,100 units.
In February, there were 11 models of self-owned SUV units sold more than 10,000 units, seven fewer than the previous month. BYD Song New Energy won the first place in its own SUV sales with sales of 22,756 units, slightly higher than last month's sales. Tang New Energy, also from BYD, has sold more than 10,000 vehicles, ranking eighth with sales of 10,426 vehicles.
Compared with sedan models, the market penetration rate of self-owned brand SUVs is much lower. According to statistics, the wholesale sales volume of the new energy SUV market in February 2022 was 93,600 units, and the penetration rate in the self-owned brand SUV market was 25%, far lower than the 61% market penetration rate of the new energy sedan in the independent brand car market.
Last year's top two Haval H6 and Changan CS75, sales in February this year were not satisfactory, year-on-year and month-on-month declines were relatively large. Among them, Haval H6 sales of 19620 vehicles, ranking second, down 38.1% year-on-year; Changan CS75 sales of 13615 vehicles, ranking third, down 58.4% year-on-year.
The Hongqi HS5 ranked fourth with sales of 12,311 units, up 89.4% year-on-year, and was also the best-selling autonomous midsize SUV. Tiggo 8 also sold more than 10,000 units, ranking seventh with sales of 10,564 vehicles.
In February, the number of autonomous SUVs that sold more than 10,000 units also included: Wuling Xingchen sold 11,232 units, ranking fifth; Geely Boyue sold 10,780 units, ranking sixth; Changan Auchan X5 sold 10,234 units, ranking ninth; Trumpchi GS4 sales of 10,163 units, ranking tenth. Geely Binyue sold 10,073 units, ranking eleventh, and is also the best-selling self-owned small SUV.
In addition, the Roewe RX5 sold 8871 units, ranking twelfth; the ideal ONE sold 8414 units, ranking thirteenth, and was the best-selling medium and large SUV model. MG ZS, Haval Dog, Geely Star Yue L, Chery Tiggo 7 sales all exceeded 7,000 units.
