Market overview: Due to the outbreak of the epidemic in many places and the shortage of supply chains, the wholesale sales of domestic passenger cars fell again in March, while the independent camp continued to grow under the leadership of leading enterprises such as Changan, BYD, and Geely, and the total sales of independent SUVs also continued to increase by 20.7% against the trend.
Among the many independent SUVs, the most eye-catching performance is undoubtedly BYD's Song.
Since the corresponding Plus DM-i, Plus EV and even Pro DM-i models have been listed in early 2021, Song's sales have begun to soar, and it has remained at more than 20,000 units for half a year since September last year, of which the past March has hit a new high of 26,729 units, which has also made its ranking in autonomous SUVs at the top since the second half of the year.
After entering 2022, due to the shortage of supply chains and the impact of resource allocation within the group, the sales of the haval H6, the king of independent SUVs, fell sharply in February and March, allowing the aggressive BYD Song to replace it as the champion of independent SUVs.
And after the continuous lead, the total sales of Song in the first quarter lagged behind the H6 by only 3,000 vehicles, which means that if Song leads again in the ongoing April, then it may become the "double champion" of the market segment in a single month and cumulative total, and eventually it will also rush into the top three of the domestic SUV market.
In the face of byders such as BYD Song and Changan CS75, whether haval H6 can win the championship of independent SUV again this year will be a big suspense.
