According to the statistics compiled by the editors of the car purchase network, the wholesale sales of the domestic independent SUV market reached 589,100 units in January 2022, which was 130,000 more than the joint venture brand SUVs. Self-owned SUV sales increased by 10.8% year-on-year compared to the same period last year; compared with December last year, it decreased by 4.4% month-on-month.
In January, there were 18 autonomous SUVs that sold more than 10,000 units, of which 3 models sold more than 30,000 units, namely the compact SUV Haval H6, Changan CS75 and Changan CS55, with sales of 35,570 units, 33,590 units and 30,316 units, respectively.
BYD Song New Energy ranked fifth with sales of 20,722 vehicles, with sales slightly higher than last month, performing well. Changan Auchan X5, Geely Boyue and other compact SUVs also sold more than 15,000 units, with 16,400 and 16,107 units respectively, ranking seventh and ninth.
The sales of autonomous compact SUVs such as Trumpchi GS4, Roewe RX5, Wuling Xingchen, Geely Xingyue L, Tiggo 7, Tank 300, Changan Auchan X7, and Haval Divine Beast also exceeded 10,000 units, becoming the backbone of the autonomous compact SUV market.
In terms of medium-sized SUVs, Hongqi HS5, as the champion of independent mid-size SUV sales, ranked fourth in the sales list of domestic independent SUVs with sales of 24,451 units, surpassing the sales of traditional powerful Geely Boyue and other models. The Tiggo 8 sold 16,240 vehicles, also slightly ahead of Geely Boyue, ranking eighth. BYD Tang New Energy ranked nineteenth with sales of 9,060 vehicles.
As the champion of independent small SUV sales, Geely Binyue sold 16,976 units in January, ranking sixth in the domestic independent SUV sales list, surpassing the sales volume of its "big brother" Boyue, an increase of 6.3% year-on-year.
As the ideal ONE sales champion for medium and large SUV, it ranked eleventh in the sales list of its own brand SUV with sales of 12268 units. The Ideal ONE is also the only medium- and large-sized SUV that has sold more than 10,000 units.
