The days of joy and suffering are short, the days of sorrow and lamentation are long, the length of time is short, the idealism is created, and all bitterness moves with the circumstances. The Monk of the Void Cloud told us such a story.

Once upon a time, there was a walking monk who stayed in a temple in Gushan. There was a monk in the temple who was sick with lepers, and everyone else hated him when they saw him. The monk was only in his twenties, very compassionate, and he took good care of the sick monk. Soon the sick monk was cured. The sick monk said to him, "Thank you for your care, the disease will be cured, otherwise I would have died a long time ago, so you and I will go to my little temple to live." The walking monk said, "I will first go to worship Mount Wutai, and then I will go to your little temple in the future." After paying homage to Mount Wutai, he returned to Drum Mountain to visit the sick monk, who greeted him at the temple gate and said, "It has been a long time since you came." He poured him a cup of boiling water to drink. The monk said, "I haven't eaten yet on the way." The sick monk said, "Please wait a little while, the meal will be delivered." The sick monks went to lead the cattle, plough the fields, sow seeds, pull out the seedlings, plant the seedlings, cut the grass, cut the rice, grind the rice, and cook rice. After eating, the monk wanted to leave, and the sick monk asked him to stay for one night before leaving. When the dawn came down, the country and mountains were still the same, the personnel were all different, and the dynasty had been changed for many years.

We were troubled in life, and we felt that the days were very sad, so he lived in the mountains for a day and night, ate a meal and went down the mountain, changed the dynasty, and lived for many years. Therefore, the state of mind is the root of the generation of bitterness.

The days of joy and suffering are short, the days of sorrow and lamentation are long, the length of time is short, the idealism is created, and all bitterness moves with the circumstances. The Monk of the Void Cloud told us such a story. Once upon a time there was a walking monk at Drum Mountain
