Kang Jinhua, 56, and Hu Jiawei, 30, are a mother and daughter living in Guangzhou's Yuexiu district, and they share volunteer status. The two are the backbone of the Guangzhou Yuexiu District Love Volunteer Service Center, and where there are volunteer services in the local area, the mother and daughter can always be seen.
"Be a good person and do good deeds" is the family motto inherited by Kang Jinhua and Hu Jiawei. In every community public welfare volunteer service, the mother and daughter practice the concept of "doing good every day". The two have been participating in public welfare volunteer service together for more than ten years, rain or shine, and volunteer service has become a cause that the mother and daughter have adhered to.

Kang Jinhua was born and raised in Guangzhou and has been a nurse for 30 years. After retiring, she is still actively involved in various volunteer services, using her professional expertise to shine. Kang Jinhua believes that her enthusiasm for public welfare and concern for others is inseparable from her mother's education from childhood.
"My parents came to Guangzhou from the north in 1958, and the family took root here." Kang Jinhua recalled that her mother was a worker in a sewing factory in Guangzhou at the time, and she often provided help to the neighbors as much as she could, "She was very good at making clothes, and the neighbors were looking for her when they made clothes, and she never accepted money." ”
Because of his mother's warm-heartedness, the Kang Jinhua family has always had a harmonious relationship with their neighbors. Mothers also repeatedly teach their children, "Don't patronize your own family satisfaction, and help those who encounter difficulties." ”

The mother and daughter have been involved in volunteer service for 14 years
Hu Jiawei is a post-90s generation, just after her establishment, she is currently one of the backbone members of the Guangzhou Yuexiu District Love Volunteer Service Center, responsible for coordinating the daily volunteer service of more than 1,000 registered volunteers in the center, providing help to the citizens of Guangzhou within her ability.
Hu Jiawei, who was brought up by her grandmother as a child, believes that the reason why she became a volunteer is inseparable from her growth experience in her grandmother's family.
In the summer of 2008, Hu Jiawei had just graduated from junior high school and discussed with her classmates to do something "meaningful." Coinciding with the opening of the Beijing Olympic Games, inspired by the olympic volunteer spirit, Hu Jiawei began to participate in volunteer public welfare activities.
"The first time we volunteered, we were assigned to Teach Children to Operate Computers at Kai Chi School. I am also a teenager myself, I don't know how to communicate with them, I am nervous. Hu Jiawei recalled, "At the end, although I couldn't see the emotional changes of the children, they would still say thank you to my sister, and I felt very happy and fulfilled at that time." ”
Kang Jinhua told reporters that he was engaged in volunteer service, and the earliest was actually his daughter "brought into the door". When she first heard about her daughter's volunteer service, she thought that the two could be a companion together and take care of each other if necessary. Unexpectedly, the mother and daughter have been volunteering together for 14 years.
In January 2022, the Guangzhou Volunteer Station Federation awarded Kang Jinhua a certificate of appreciation for the "10th Anniversary of Glorious Service" to thank her for her hard work in Guangzhou Volunteer Station from 2011 to 2021. Hu Jiawei also received the "Guangdong Five-Star Volunteer Qualification Certificate" issued by the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Civilization Office of Guangdong Province and the Guangdong Volunteer Federation in December 2021.

Daughter and son-in-law form "volunteer couple"
The first floor of a community in Hongqiao Street, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, is the office of the Yuexiu District Love Volunteer Service Center, and it is also the kitchen of "Mother's Private Dish". On one wall of the office, there are recipes for "Mom's Private Dishes" from nearly a month, with a meat, a vegetarian soup and seasonal fruits in each issue.

"Mother's Private Dish" is one of the volunteer service projects in which Kang Jinhua and Hu Jiawei participate, where volunteers spontaneously make nutritious meals at their own expense and bring them to the elderly in the community twice a week to supplement nutrition for the elderly.
"When we deliver food, we also want to chat with the elderly to see if there is anything to help solve." Hu Jiawei said that although there are not many objects of "mother's private dish", it has not been interrupted since its inception in 2011 and has lasted for more than 1,000 issues so far. In the Spring Festival of 2022, Hu Jiawei also plans to pay tribute to the elderly living alone with other volunteers.
It is worth mentioning that Hu Jiawei and her husband Mr. Liu became acquainted with the volunteer service of "mother's private dish" and eventually formed a couple.
After marriage, the two are still keen on doing public welfare, often participating in volunteer services such as respecting the elderly and preventing epidemics.
Mr. Liu believes that his wife's family style and family training are similar to the education he received since he was a child, "My father is a farmer who has always asked us to be kind to people and do more good deeds.
