Liu Wen, the instructor of the award ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, said in an exclusive interview with a reporter from China News Agency on the 10th that the etiquette volunteers walked to the podium in a dignified, beautiful and generous manner, showing the beauty of the Orient.

Liu Wen is a well-known etiquette training expert in China. In 2021, Liu Wen was invited to become the instructor of the award ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics and went to Beijing to participate in the intensive training of volunteer candidates for the award ceremony.
What can etiquette volunteers pass on to the winning athletes? In Liu Wen's view, athletes not only showed their own highlight moments on the field, but also represented the country behind them, fighting for honor for the country and fighting for their dreams. "As the 'master' of this Winter Olympic Games, we must convey the highest respect for athletes through the norms and elegance of the ceremonial volunteers."
Liu Wen told reporters that on top of the standards required by the International Olympic Committee, she and all members of the training team actively explored innovation. "In the training, in addition to the usual physical training, standard technical movements, awarding process and international etiquette training, we also integrated the content of the classic Chinese works "Book of Poetry" and "Analects" into the training, and improved the behavior of etiquette volunteers from the table and inside."
Liu Wen said that unlike the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics ceremonial volunteers who put their hands downwards, the Beijing Winter Olympics award ceremony personnel placed their hands crossed in front of their abdomen. "This standing posture is a very typical Chinese hand position."
During the award ceremony, how can the tray holding the medals look atmospheric in the hands of the ceremonial volunteers? "In the training, we asked the etiquette volunteers not to have two elbows close to the body, leaving a distance of three fists." Liu Wen said, "Such a hand position not only looks neat and dignified, but also has the atmosphere of sincere congratulations to the athletes for winning the award." ”
Due to the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, etiquette volunteers need to wear masks when performing their tasks, which means that the position of etiquette volunteers from the eyes down to the mouth will be obscured, how to make athletes and spectators feel the smile of etiquette volunteers? Liu Wen said that this link requires etiquette volunteers to also keep a smile in the mask and convey the emotions of happiness and congratulations through the eyes.

Practicing smiling in front of the mirror has become a daily "compulsory course" for etiquette volunteers, and even let the smile run through the training. Liu Wen told reporters that when the etiquette volunteers face the training teachers, on-site staff, and strangers, they will take the initiative to say hello and nod their heads.
