In fact, in 2021 last year, the state has issued a draft of the "General Technical Conditions for Multi-purpose Trucks" in response to this problem, which was prepared by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China.
In this consultation draft, a series of indicators such as the size, related parameters, and even fixed anchor hooks of future pickup truck models have been calibrated in detail, such as: the cab is not higher than 2100mm, the height of the cargo box railing is not higher than 1500mm, and the top length of the cargo box is not more than 35% of the total length of the car and not more than 1850mm. In addition, it is clearly stipulated that the rated loading quality of pickup truck models should not be more than 500kg, which is not much different from the loading capacity of SUVs and cars at this stage.
It can be clearly seen that under a number of restrictions, the "cargo" capacity of pickup truck models under the provisions of the new standard in the future has been greatly weakened.
Obviously, starting with new pickup design indicators in the future, "multi-purpose trucks", that is, pickup trucks, have the basic conditions to be identified as "passenger cars".
Considering that this draft has been more than a year since its release, the pickup truck industry is very hopeful to usher in the release of the final version of the new regulations in 2022, bringing a ray of hope for the development of the passenger pickup truck market.
Coincidentally, in 2022 this year, there are also a number of heavy passenger pickup models that will be officially introduced into China or open mass production delivery, and it seems that car companies have smelled the arrival of market opportunities in advance.
The first model is the Tesla Cyberruck, which currently ranks first in the passenger pickup market.
Since its release, the car has maintained a very high degree of market attention, and the staggering number of pre-sale orders also reflects the degree of consumer love for such a "hardcore and practical enough" model.

Judging from the basic body parameters currently announced, it should also be able to meet the above standards of the "General Technical Conditions for Multi-purpose Trucks" Draft for Comments, and it is expected to obtain the "passenger car identity" after the official delivery in the future; at the same time, the new energy green card is not limited to purchase and unlimited, which is like another choice to be pursued by the whole people after the SUV boom.
The second blockbuster model is from our domestic brand, the Great Wall Pickup Truck under Great Wall Motors - Cannon. During the previous 2020 and 2021 auto shows, the Great Wall brought a passenger pure electric version of the Great Wall Gun, with a pre-sale of 279,800 yuan, but it has not been officially listed.
Of course, in addition to the pure electric passenger version, the fuel passenger version of the gun has actually met the provisions of the above "General Technical Conditions for Multi-purpose Trucks" Draft for Comments, and the "passenger car identity" can be realized in the future theory.
However, in 2022, we are still more looking forward to the official listing of pure electric passenger guns, because the pure electric passenger pickup trucks are not only unlimited and unlimited, but also more in line with the needs of most people's cars, but also in terms of pure electric pickup truck models can give us more possibilities for car life.
