In this case, Ran Wenlong illegally deprived four people of their lives, constituting the crime of intentional homicide with serious circumstances, and according to article 232 of the Criminal Law, whoever commits intentional homicide shall be sentenced to death, life imprisonment or fixed-term imprisonment of not less than 10 years; if the circumstances are less serious, he shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than ten years.
In judicial practice, the crime of intentional homicide committed if the circumstances are serious shall be punished by death or life imprisonment, such as:
