IT House December 24 news, according to MSPoweruser reported that the News and Interests taskbar widget on Windows 10 is relatively similar to the widget system on Windows 11, but in terms of access methods.
On Windows 10, there's a real-time widget in the taskbar that shows things like weather, stock price metrics, and other news items, so it's useful even if you don't have the actual widget turned on.
On Windows 11, the taskbar has a widget icon, but it's static and easy to forget, so tapping on it is much less appealing.
Microsoft must have noticed that the usage of their new Windows 11 widget is much lower than that of the Windows 10 News and Interest widget, as the company is tracking the ability to restore Windows 10.
In the latest Windows 11 Insider Build 22518, they write,
"We're trying to show widget entry points on the left side of your taskbar and show real-time weather content. You can also open the widget panel by simply hovering over the entry point. ”
IT House has learned that the new version of the taskbar widget is no longer centered, but placed in the position of the Windows' previous Start menu button, which is believed to result in a large number of accidental clicks. The widget now also opens on hover, which is another annoyance (but can be easily disabled) in the Windows 10 version.
Despite early objections, some users have fallen in love with the News & Interest widget, which has undoubtedly helped Microsoft MSN become one of the world's largest news dissemination sites.
