In the latest preview update, Microsoft launched a new minimalist taskbar function for Win11, improved the UI for hidden trays, and adjusted some features.
In the new taskbar, Microsoft modified the UI of the system tray to make it less like it was "cut out" from Win10; at the same time, the new taskbar can directly hide all the icons on the right except sound and network, which is more concise.
These modifications make the new taskbar more beautiful and more in line with the operating logic of the tablet, but for old users, it sacrifices a classic function that has existed for many years.
Previously, users were able to drag small icons directly with the mouse on the taskbar tray to adjust the order of small icons or select which icons were collapsed.
However, after this update, users can only select whether the small icon is folded in the form of a switch in the taskbar settings, and the original drag-and-drop operation is cut.
In fact, the modification of the small icon drag and drop has been tested in the previous preview version, and from the current situation, Microsoft is indeed determined to cut the feature.
