Microsoft Win11 Preview 22593 fixes content and complete list of known issues

Here are the highlights:

Microsoft receives a lot of feedback on desktop watermarks from Windows Insiders in beta channels. After updating to the latest preview version, it is normal to see this watermark on the user's desktop. It does not change the license of the user's device. Note, however, that these are preview versions that do expire, so it's important for users to stay updated with the latest version released by Microsoft.

This release includes only a few changes and improvements, but includes a good set of fixes that will improve the overall experience of the beta personnel on their devices.

Microsoft has also added some new known issues.

Known issues

Microsoft will not provide a new build version of Windows Insiders on Lenovo PCs in the Chinese market this time.

Windows Insiders running Windows 10 who join the Dev or Beta channel to get the latest version may encounter download error code 0xc8000402 when trying to download the latest version. As a workaround, join the Release Preview Channel, install Windows 11 (Build 22000.xxxx) from there, and then switch to the Dev or Beta channel to receive the latest insider preview. Microsoft is aware of this issue and will fix it in an upcoming release.

Microsoft is investigating reports that some insiders have encountered explorer .exe repeated loop crashes in the latest builds and fail to load successfully. This release includes a mitigation that may help some insiders who encounter this condition.

When you open the Group Policy Editor, an Administrative Template error pops up. Click "Ok" to eliminate and continue using the Group Policy Editor normally.

Devices that use Windows Information Protection (formerly EDP) policies will not be able to access controlled data on this version through protected applications such as Outlook, Word, Microsoft Edge, and so on. Users are advised to pause updates under Settings > Windows Update until a new Insider Preview version is released, with fixes. If the user already has Build 22593 installed, they can roll back to a previous version to restore expected data access.

Launch an app or tap outside the expanded taskbar on a 2-in-1 device, and the taskbar doesn't always collapse automatically.

Some areas of the operating system do not yet track the height of the expanded taskbar on the 2-in-1 device, so you may see overlapping components.

Microsoft is fixing an issue where some application icons hovering over the system tray do not show previews or tooltips.

Microsoft is fixing issues with icon size, visual errors, and text clipping in pop-ups that show OneDrive storage.

Renaming a file using the right-click option in the file manager causes explorer .exe crash. As a workaround, click Highlight file and use the Rename button in the File Explorer command bar to complete the rename process.

When you use gestures from the side of the screen, the widget panel may not open successfully. If it's affected, temporarily tap the widget icon in the taskbar instead.

[Network]

Microsoft is investigating reports of network connectivity issues when connecting to certain virtual private networks in previous releases.

Some full-screen applications, such as video players, can't see live subtitles.

Some applications located near the top of the screen, which are closed before running live captions, will be restarted behind the live captions window located at the top. When the application has focus, use the System menu (ALT + Spacebar) to move the application's window further down.

When the live caption is at the top, the topmost of the maximized application (for example, the window management button of the title bar) cannot be touched.
