According to the data of the Federation of Passenger Vehicles, the retail sales of the domestic new energy passenger car market reached 445,000 units in March 2022, an increase of 137.6% year-on-year and 63.1% from February. From January to March this year, the cumulative retail sales of the domestic new energy passenger car market were 1.070 million units, an increase of 146.6% year-on-year.
In March, the number of car companies selling more than 10,000 new energy vehicles reached 12. Among them, BYD's auto sales grew steadily, ranking first in the sales of new energy passenger cars with 103229 units, up 334% year-on-year. At present, BYD has stopped the production of fuel vehicles, and all models on sale are new energy vehicles.
Tesla's cumulative sales in China ranked second with a cumulative sales of 65,754 vehicles, an increase of 85.3% year-on-year. Among them, model 3 sales of 26,024 vehicles, Model Y retail sales of 39,730 vehicles.
SAIC-GM-Wuling ranked third, with sales of 46,791 new energy vehicles, an increase of 40.7% year-on-year. SAIC-GM-Wuling's new energy vehicle sales mainly come from Hongguang MINI, with sales reaching 41,980 units, while sales of other models are relatively small.
The sales of new energy vehicles launched by two traditional car companies such as Chery Automobile and GAC Aegean are also good, with both exceeding 20,000 units. Among them, Chery's new energy vehicle sales of 20,350 units, ranking fourth, the recently listed QQ ice cream is indispensable; GAC Aean sales exceeded 20,000 for the first time, ranking fifth with the sales volume of 20317 vehicles.
In addition, three traditional car companies, such as Changan Automobile, Great Wall Motor and Geely Automobile, have all entered the top ten in new energy sales. Among them, Changan Automobile sold 15,233 new energy vehicles, Great Wall Motor sold 14,999 new energy vehicles, and Geely new energy sold 13,633 vehicles.
Among the new car-making forces, the best sales volume is Xiaopeng Automobile, with sales of 15,414 vehicles in March, ranking sixth; Nezha Automobile, Ideal Automobile and Zero-run Car all sold more than 10,000 vehicles, reaching 12,026, 11,034 and 10,059 vehicles respectively. Nio's growth was relatively slow, with sales of only 9,985 units in March, ranking at the bottom of the five new forces.
North and South Volkswagen both made the list, of which FAW-Volkswagen sold 7230 new energy vehicles and SAIC-Volkswagen 6543 vehicles.
Among the top 15 car companies in March, only Tesla and North and South Volkswagen belonged to overseas brands, and the other thirteen car companies all came from independent brands.
