Lotus's first pure electric SUV, which is expected to debut this year (2022), officially carried out the last wave of publicity before the official unveiling of the scheduled March 29. Originally named only "Type 132", the brand's new car series will continue the brand's tradition of beginning with the letter "E" and name it "Eletre". According to the available information, Eletre will become the brand's first Lotus made in China.
In fact, through the previous lotus registration information, it is already possible to roughly determine the interior design of Eletre. Its design is edgy, especially the front bumper line has a wide open momentum, from the bumpy hood to the angled intake dam, showing lotus designers' ambitions for the brand's first pure electric SUV. In terms of rear, the Eletre is also expected to have a rather aggressive design, with a transverse taillight strip with concave tailgate lines creating a relief-like texture.
It is worth mentioning that Eletre has set many Lotus "firsts". First of all, since Lotus's parent company is Geely Automobile Group, Eletre will be the first lotus car to be manufactured in China, and it is expected to be assembled in Wuhan and Geely Automobile's newly built assembly plant. In addition, the Eletre will be Lotus's first non-limited production pure electric vehicle series after Evija.
In terms of electric systems, the Eletre will currently have the highest output performance between 600 and 750 horses, and the battery system is expected to be an 800-volt, 92- to 120kWh lithium battery pack with a performance version that can accelerate from stationary to 100 kilometers per hour in 3 seconds. In addition, because the Eletre will be built on the brand's Premium electric vehicle chassis architecture, its wheelbase is expected to be between 2,889 and 3,100mm.
