It is reported that the new national standard will be officially implemented on July 1.
That is to say, with the release of the new national standard, electronic rearview mirrors will be able to officially land on the market and become the emergence of vehicle configurations.
Specifically, the electronic rearview mirror is a combination of camera + monitor to replace the existing traditional rearview mirror, collect images through external cameras, display them on the display screen in the car, and play the functions of blind spot warning and obstacle reminder. In addition, compared with traditional exterior mirrors, electronic mirrors have the advantages of lower drag coefficient, smaller blind spots, and clearer driving at night.
At present, a total of 7 different types of electronic mirrors are officially allowed, which can be placed in multiple areas of the body to bring a multi-angle picture to the driver.
In addition, in the new national standard, there are also clear requirements for the placement of displays in the car. Among them, the display of the left rearview mirror must be placed on the left side of the driver; The display of the right mirror can be placed on the right side of the center console or to the right of the instrument cluster.
However, the two displays cannot be placed in the center console position at the same time, and the downward inclination of the display cannot be greater than 30 degrees to prevent affecting the driver's viewing view.
In fact, in the recent spy photos of Xpeng's new SUV, we found that the car was equipped with electronic rearview mirrors, and we said at the time that we believed that it would officially land on the market soon. In addition, Lotus has also launched electronic exterior mirrors as an option for ELETRE models, with an optional price of 16,000 yuan, which is expected to become the first model equipped with electronic exterior mirrors in China.
As early as 2018, Lexus announced that it would supply electronic exterior mirrors for the new generation of Lexus ES in Japan, becoming the world's first mass-produced passenger model equipped with electronic exterior mirrors (Mercedes-Benz Actros truck is the first model).
