As a responsible multinational automobile group, Toyota Motor Corporation has been challenging zero carbon dioxide emissions by promoting electrification and striving to achieve "carbon neutrality" in order to protect the global environment.
Since the release of the world's first mass-produced hybrid model in 1997, Toyota motor has sold more than 18 million electrified models worldwide, including hybrid models (HEVs), plug-in hybrid models (PHEV), pure electric (EV) models, and hydrogen fuel cell (FCEV) models, with hybrid models accounting for the highest proportion.
It is estimated that Toyota's electrified models will reduce gasoline consumption by about 55 billion liters and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 147 million tons.

In terms of reducing carbon dioxide emissions and low-carbon green travel, Toyota Motor is at the forefront of the world in the automotive industry.
As the only automotive company among the global partners of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Toyota Motor will provide a large number of electrified models for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games and carry out low-carbon green travel services. In particular, the "Second Generation MIRAI", which has put into use of hydrogen fuel cells in China for the first time, and the "Costa Hydrogen Engine" developed for the conference, have made outstanding contributions to the "Green Olympic Games".
The Beijing Winter Olympics have the most electrified models in history
The Beijing Winter Olympics are in full swing, and the goal of this Winter Olympics is to host a green Winter Olympics. In line with the concept of "green Olympic Games", the Beijing Winter Olympics promised at the time of bidding that the carbon emissions generated by the Games would be neutralized. Taking the event service car as an example, the service car for the event of this Winter Olympic Games has used a large number of hybrid, pure electric, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and other electrified models. According to the statistics of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, among the transportation service vehicles used in the Winter Olympic Games, energy-saving and clean energy vehicles accounted for 100% of the passenger cars and 85.84% of all vehicles, which was the highest in the previous Winter Olympics.
As the first world-class sports event after the country put forward the goal of "2030 carbon peak, 2060 carbon neutrality", the degree of electrification of vehicles for the Beijing Winter Olympics has reached a new high, especially the large-scale application of hydrogen energy technology, which will not only help the Winter Olympics challenge the "most environmentally friendly Olympic Games in history", but also become an important milestone in the history of hydrogen energy development.
Toyota offers more than 2,000 electrified models
During the Beijing Winter Olympics, Toyota supplied a total of 2,205 electrified vehicles, most of which were Toyota brand hybrid models and pure electric models produced by FAW Toyota and GAC Toyota in China. These models also include 140 Toyota MIRAI and 105 Costa hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
Toyota 2nd generation MIRAI
Toyota MIRAI is a Japanese-made hydrogen fuel cell sedan that was mainly used as a VIP car at the Beijing Winter Olympics. Costa Hydrogen Engine is a high-end China-Bus commercial vehicle, which is designed and developed by Toyota for the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, developed by Toyota China R&D Center, and produced by Sichuan FAW Toyota. This is the first time that Toyota Motor has realized the "localization" of the whole process of hydrogen fuel cell technology from research and development to production overseas.
Toyota Costa Hydrogen Engine
The Beijing Winter Olympics are divided into three divisions: Downtown Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou, with both urban sections and rugged and steep winding roads. Coupled with ice and snow weather, the road conditions are complex and changeable, which puts forward strict requirements for the reliability and power performance of electric vehicles, especially hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
It is understood that Toyota's electrified vehicles serving Beijing Dong'ao are running well. Toyota Costa hydrogen engine in the low temperature of -30 ° normal start, high torque output of the power characteristics to ensure stable driving in high slope, wet slippery mountain road, has become a beautiful landscape outside the Winter Olympic Games. Toyota hydrogen fuel cell vehicle fuel filling is fast, the mileage is long, and it can fully meet the commuting requirements of the round-trip between the arena and the station.
Since the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, Costa Hydrogen Engine has been operating as an athlete shuttle bus in Yanqing and Zhangjiakou areas, shuttling between the Winter Olympic Village and the venue group, with excellent performance and reliable stability, it has been fully affirmed by the Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, and the President of the International Olympic Committee, Mr. Bach, also expressed satisfaction and gratitude for the transportation service of the Winter Olympics.
