On February 10, FAW-Volkswagen released its January sales figures: 195871 units, up 0.85% month-on-month and down 18.9% year-on-year, nearly one-tenth of the full-year target (2 million units).
By brand, the Jetta brand sold 20,022 vehicles, a year-on-year surge of 41%, a slight increase of 3.4% month-on-month. Among the three models currently owned, the Jetta VS5 is the main source of sales, with sales exceeding 10,000 units in December last year.

In December last year, the Jetta, Volkswagen and Audi brands sold 20,076, 113635 and 60,504 vehicles, respectively. From the data point of view, the Audi brand achieved a month-on-month growth of 15.8% in January, and the Volkswagen brand was basically flat. This is related to faw-Volkswagen's internal strategy: in the case of chip shortage, priority is given to Audi, and the maximum production of models is not affected by chip resources to make up for the loss of production.
At present, the chip supply problem of global car companies has not been fully solved, but FAW-Volkswagen is full of confidence in the market performance in 2022, which is reflected in the sales targets of 1.225 million and 800,000 vehicles proposed by the Volkswagen brand and the Audi brand respectively.
By 2022, the FAW-Volkswagen brand will launch six new models, including five remodeled models (Magotan, Sagittarius, Bora, Tango family, Tange remodeled models) and 1 new model (a new mainstream big five-seater SUV). These models basically have a good reputation, and the product strength after the model upgrade is improved, which may be of great help to the increase in sales.
In terms of Audi brands, there are Audi Q4 e-tron, Audi Q5 e-tron and flagship sedan e-tron GT, which are mainly new energy models to expand the electrification lineup of the Audi brand.
