The CX-60 has actually been captured by the Japanese media when shooting promotional videos, and from the perspective of the original factory positioning, it will also be a double-row 5-seat SUV that locks into the European and Japanese markets and is one size larger than the current CX-5.
The debut of this series, the CX-50, which has been debuted in November 2021 and was recently produced in the joint venture Alabama MTM (Mazda Toyota Manufacturing) factory with the US standard Toyota Corolla Cross, but it is a North American market exclusive to the product positioning between the CX-5 and CX-30, and will not be imported into markets outside North America, and it is also the latest in this series In the SUV product plan, the only works belonging to the "Small Product Group Small Car Product Group" and the rest including the CX-60, CX-70, CX-80 and CX-90 belong to the "Large Product Group Large Car Product Group".
Mazda SUV Product Program
The SUV front of the "Large Product Group Large Vehicle Product Group" is mainly divided into 2 5-seater and 2 7-seater options, and is further subdivided into narrow-body and wide-body car series according to market orientation. According to Mazda's original factory planning, the CX-60 will be a double-row 5-seat SUV launched for Europe and Japan and other markets, the size and positioning will be larger than the CX-5, and the width of the car will be narrower in line with the road conditions of the European and Japanese markets; the relative wide double-row 5-seat choice, corresponding to the CX-70, the CX-70's wide body setting is aimed at the market with a wider width of road in North America.
Similarly, in the three-row 7-seat product part, according to the market orientation, they will be divided into CX-80 and CX-90, and the narrow-body CX-80 will be aimed at the European and Japanese markets; the CX-90 will be a wide-body three-row 7-seater, mainly corresponding to the North American market. Although there are not many exterior details revealed by the original factory, in fact, in November 2021, the Japanese media CSK Review Channel captured the unmasked appearance of the CX-60 filmed in Japan, and the difference between the CX-60 and the CX-5 series can still be easily identified through the completely different headlight shapes and the suction dams located on both sides of the front. In particular, the LED day-running light strip extends to the chrome trim strip officially known as the "Soul Moving Wing", which brings a different front-end impression; in addition, the original designer also added an arrow-like model nameplate for the first time at the fender, which is also a rare design of Japanese SUVs. At present, foreign media speculate that the CX-60 will be the brand's first car to use PHEV plug-in oil-electric hybrid, estimated to be equipped with a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine and a single motor, the combined horsepower can be expected to look up to 304 horses, and the PHEV car guild will adopt four-wheel drive settings.
