Honda plans to sell 800,000 pure electric vehicles in China in 2030

Nikkei Chinese.com reported on January 28 that Honda will fully launch its pure electric vehicle (EV) business in China. Katsushi Inoue, the head of the company in China and the head of the Chinese government, revealed in an interview that he "strives to sell 800,000 pure electric vehicles by 2030."

In terms of production, the joint ventures Dongfeng Honda and Guangqi Honda will build new pure electric vehicle plants respectively and strive to put them into operation in 2024, and it is expected that the two plants will achieve an annual production capacity of 240,000 units in the first place, which is lower than the target of 800,000 units, but Inoue Katsushi said that "the future capacity growth can be considered no matter how big."
