In terms of models, SUV models led by the Macan will still have the highest demand in 2021. Specifically, the Macan sold 88,362 units worldwide last year, compared to 83,071 units in the Cayenne; the all-electric Porsche Taycan sold 41,296, more than double the delivery volume in 2020; the 911 model also reached a new high, with 38,464 units delivered in 2021; the Panamera delivered 30,220 units; and the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman delivered 20. 502 vehicles.
In 2021, Porsche deliveries rose in all markets on sale. Among them, the U.S. market in 2021 deliveries rose 22% year-on-year to 70,025 units, while the overall sales volume in the Americas was 84,657 units, an increase of 22%, and the Chinese market sales increased by 8% year-on-year to a total of 95,671 units, while the total delivery volume in Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East was 131,098 units.
In the German market, Porsche's market demand has also increased. Last year, Porsche Germany delivered 28,565 units, up 9% year-on-year, while its overall deliveries in Europe were 86,160 units, up 7% year-on-year. About 40 percent of last year's deliveries in Europe were plug-in hybrids or pure electric vehicles.
Detlev von Platen, member of Porsche's executive board of directors responsible for sales and marketing, said: "The overall results are very good and demonstrate that the electrification strategy is effective and in line with consumer needs and preferences. At the same time, sales are not a decisive factor for us. What we want to deliver is unique consumer experiences and continue to expand those experiences globally. ”
