According to foreign media reports, the Us electric car manufacturer Tesla plans to launch 4 models such as Model X, Model Y, Model 3, and Model S in the Turkish market this year.

Tesla has taken steps to target the local market. The company appointed Kemal Ge er as CEO of its local subsidiary Tesla Motorlar and increased its local capital investment from 710,000 Turkish lira to 50 million lira. Ge Er previously served as the Turkish-Iraqi representative for Lufthansa.

Tesla Motorlari will be responsible for selling the four models in the Turkish market. Tesla aims to roll out these models to Turkish consumers as soon as possible and publish prices.

Meanwhile, Tesla's website shows that the company may set up superchargering stations in 10 provinces of Turkey, including Istanbul, Ankara, zmir, Bursa, Edirne, Bal kesir, Antalya, Eddin, Konya and Saakaya province in the northwestern part of the Hendek district. Charging stations will be built in convenient locations such as highways and shopping malls.

Tesla will also establish a service and maintenance team for customers in Turkey and will establish a network of sales offices and showrooms, which are expected to create thousands of jobs locally, and job advertisements will soon appear on Tesla's website.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk visited Turkey in 2017 and met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoan. Last December, Erdo an and Musk also held a video conference. During the conversation, Musk said he looked forward to many projects in Turkey in the future. The Turkish president discussed with Musk the cooperation between Turkish public and private sector institutions and Tesla in various fields, especially satellite and space technology.

According to Turkish car dealerships, a total of 2,846 electric vehicles were sold in Turkey in 2021, an increase of 237% over the previous year. In December 2021 alone, sales of electric vehicles in Turkey reached 431, up 56% year-on-year.
