The situation report of the "Hu Xinyu" incident made the child's psychological problems become a hot search again. A number of psychological experts said in an interview with Health Times that psychological problems such as depression are currently one of the most common psychological problems among adolescent patients, and the psychological counseling room set up by the school should actively play a role in helping children relieve psychological and emotional problems in time.

According to the circular, Hu Xinyu's psychological state before his disappearance was unbalanced, manifested as sleep problems such as difficulty falling asleep, waking up early, difficulty falling asleep after waking up, cognitive dysfunction such as difficulty concentrating and memory difficulties, emotional problems such as guilt, self-blame, pain, helplessness, hopelessness, and meaninglessness, abnormal eating, clear world-weariness and suicide tendencies.

Ma Lin, an intermediate psychotherapist at Beijing Huilongguan Hospital, told People's Daily Health Client that the number of adolescents attending outpatient clinics has increased significantly compared with before, most of them are adolescents with depression. According to the statistics of One Psychology, in the past five years, the proportion of new users of psychological counseling under the age of 20 has been increasing year by year.

On February 3, Health Times randomly interviewed five schools in three cities, including Taiyuan, Hefei and Hangzhou, including middle schools and universities. A number of students asked whether the school had relevant psychological counseling conditions, and all said that although the school had a psychological counseling room, it was basically not used.

"At present, schools generally have psychological counseling rooms, but the use of counseling rooms in different schools is uneven, and the role of emotional counseling and psychological assistance for students is not satisfactory." On February 3, Cao Dagang, a senior psychology teacher in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, pointed out in an interview with Health Times.

He said that there are three problems in the school's psychological counseling room at present: First, the school's attention to psychological counseling is different, resulting in some schools' psychological counseling room being a mere formality and becoming a decoration. "Although some school psychological counseling rooms are delicately decorated, they are found not to be used during the inspection, such as the sand table, a common prop for psychological counseling, and the sand is still as new after many years."

Secondly, there are certain differences in the professional level of psychological counselors in different schools. On the whole, schools in Jiangsu and Zhejiang have a good professional team of psychological counselors, but many of the psychological counselors in some remote schools are part-time, and there are still big differences in the thickness of their majors.

Third, the counselor's commuting time basically matches that of students, which leads to students who are already ashamed to speak up and do not have enough time to ask teachers for help.

Cao Dagang pointed out that the formation of mental illness is generally divided into six stages: psychological confusion, psychological problems, psychological disorders, and mental illness. The initial confusion usually lasts for two weeks, and reaching the psychological problem stage indicates that the problem has lasted for nearly two months.

How can psychological problems be detected earlier and seek help?

Cao Dagang put forward several suggestions, first of all, from the student level, when there is psychological confusion and doubts about themselves, the first time to seek help from the psychology teacher, rather than rising to the level of going to see a psychologist. When making a semester plan at the beginning of the semester, try to avoid setting goals that are too absolute (such as I must take the top three, etc.), and give yourself more space and choices.

Secondly, from the level of parents and teachers, pay attention to observing some of the child's "small actions", such as repeated erasing content, writing hands shaking or frequent hand shaking and other compulsive behaviors, as well as avoidance of sexual behavior, such as unwillingness to try when encountering problems, especially resistance or even serious delays.

"On the road of youth, you pack your bags, walk alone, if you are tired and need to come to the psychological counseling center to rest, remember that this light of the psychological center will always be on for you." Cao Dagang said to the vast number of teenagers.
