It is reported that on today's internal opening letter of Xpeng Motors, He Xiaopeng officially revealed that 5 new and remodeled models will be launched this year (3 models were previously mentioned at the earnings conference). From the currently known information, the facelifted models will have P7, G3, P5 models, and the new models are Coupe SUV and MPV models.
New P7:
The new P7 has been declared by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and will be equipped with an 86.2kWh battery pack with three cruising ranges of 610km, 670km and 702km.
The appearance has not changed much, providing a lidar version, unlike most new energy vehicles placed in the front of the car, the new P7's lidar is hidden in the headlight group position. The interior will be equipped with the same steering wheel as the G9 and the new Xmart 4.0 system. The center control armrest has been changed to a side-opening method, and wireless charging pads are equipped on both sides. Compared with the current model, the new P7 has improved charging efficiency, but will not be equipped with 800V charging and SiC. Other power parameters are consistent with battery life, etc.
New Coupe SUV:
On this year's new model, the first is the Coupe SUV, although it is not officially named at present, but it is certain that the new car will be a model starting with G, but the suffix number is not yet certain. In terms of styling, the front of Xpeng's new SUV adopts the same latest family design language as the G9, including split headlights and a closed grille, and is expected to be equipped with LiDAR.
Coming to the side of the car, the new car adopts the popular slip-back shape, the smooth roof profile slowly slopes down from the B-pillar, and is equipped with hidden door handles, the rear shape looks very rounded, and the taillight shape is expected to continue the G9's through-through style.
It is reported that Xpeng's new SUV will be built based on the new F platform, and the length is expected to be similar to the P7, at about 4.7m, in addition to having stronger automatic driving capabilities, the future will be fully benchmarked against Tesla Model Y.
New MPV:
For Xpeng MPV models, there is very little known information, but from spy photos, you can still see that the new car adopts the X-BOT FACE 3.0 DESIGN STYLE, WHICH CAN REFER TO XPENG G9 AND other models. It can be seen from the side of the car that it is a typical MPV style, square and straight, visually the body size is large, I believe that there will be a good seating space in the car in the future. In terms of power and more configurations, it will be necessary to wait for further official news.
In the future, Xpeng Motors will be built based on the three major platforms of E, F and H, in addition to sharing parts (including chassis, power, intelligent driving system, etc.) to reduce costs, stabilize the supply chain, and improve development efficiency. At the same time, the SKUs of Xpeng's models will be reduced, and the configuration will be more streamlined and reasonable, which is convenient for consumers to choose. In terms of assisted driving, Xpeng Motors is accelerating the development of XNGP, a next-generation full-scenario intelligent assisted driving product, and plans to launch its main functions in the third quarter of 2023.
