Just before the playoffs, Kia unveiled a new feature for EV9 owners that will allow them to represent their favorite NBA teams with a customized in-house display theme. Whether your team is the Golden State Warriors or the Los Angeles Lakers, you can personalize your vehicle's display with custom colors and logos. It can also welcome you and see you off with a unique sound.
The EV9's 12.3-inch instrument cluster displays the colors and logos of each of the 30 NBA teams. Are you a fan of the Golden State Warriors? Your display will display the team's iconic blue and gold.
Maybe you're more of a LeBron fan of the Los Angeles Lakers. You can choose the EV9's display to show the purple, gold, and black jerseys that the team wore on game night. New York Knicks fans can show off the team's famous blue, orange, and white (shown below).
"It's just a hint," explains Steven Center, chief operating officer and executive vice president of Kia America. Custom NBA themes are up to date as the automaker works to introduce new features and personalization options that make owning an electric car even more exciting.
Kia began rolling out an over-the-air update to the EV9 custom NBA display theme earlier this month, ahead of the playoffs that begin April 20.
The EV9 is Kia's first model to be remotely upgraded with a new connected car navigation cockpit (ccNC) infotainment system. The NBA theme will be available through the Kia Connected Store's digital features and services for $39.99 per team. You can unlock it via the Kia Access app or the Kia Owner Portal.
