New forces generally declined month-on-month
On May 1, Xiaopeng Motors announced that it delivered 9,002 vehicles in April, a 75% year-on-year increase, but a 71% decrease from 15,414 units in March. From January to April, Xiaopeng Automobile delivered 43,563 vehicles, an average of more than 10,000 vehicles per month.
Among the new forces that have been greatly affected by the epidemic are Weilai and Ideal. On April 9, WEILAI released a description of the suspension of vehicle production, saying that due to the epidemic situation, since March, NIO's supply chain partners in Jilin, Shanghai, Jiangsu and other places have stopped production, WEILAI vehicle production has been suspended, and many users have postponed delivery. NIO delivered 5,074 units in April, down 49.2% month-on-month. From January to April, WEILAI sold 30,842 vehicles, an average of 7,710 units per month. Ideal deliveries were just 4,167 units in April, more than double the month-on-month increase from 11,034 units in March. From January to April, ideal cars delivered 35,883 units, an average of 8,971 units per month.
Since the second half of last year, Nezha Automobile has ranked in the first echelon of new forces. In April, Nezha delivered 8,813 vehicles. From January to April, a total of 38,965 vehicles were delivered, an average of 9,741 vehicles per month.
Zero-run vehicles delivered 9,087 units in April, down 10.7% month-on-month from 10,059 units in March, but deliveries were still higher than other new forces, winning the first monthly delivery championship of new forces. From January to April, a total of 30,666 vehicles were delivered, an average of 7,666 vehicles per month.
Affected by the epidemic and supply chain, GAC Aeon sold 10,212 vehicles in April, down 49.75% month-on-month from 20,317 vehicles in March, but up 23% year-on-year. GAC Aeon is the only smart pure electric car brand among the new forces that sold more than 10,000 yuan a month in April. From January to April, GAC Aean sold 55,086 units, up 113% year-on-year.

SAIC-GM, SAIC Volkswagen and other plants have reduced production and suspended production. FAW-Volkswagen also stopped production for a short time. At present, the FAW-Volkswagen Changchun plant has fully resumed work, and SAIC Volkswagen and SAIC-GM are gradually resuming work and production.
Due to the impact of the epidemic, throughout April, automobile production, logistics and delivery have been greatly affected, not only the new forces of car manufacturing, but also other automobile companies. Although the statistics of automobile production and sales in April have not yet come out, the downward trend is very obvious.
Industry authorities believe that the decline in automobile production and sales in April was mainly affected by the impact of the epidemic. Due to the decline in automobile production in April, it is bound to affect sales in May, and the situation in the domestic automobile market in May may be more severe.
Stable growth is expected throughout the year
Xin Guobin, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said in an interview with the Economic Daily a few days ago that automobiles are an important pillar industry of the national economy and are of great significance for stabilizing the overall situation of economic development.
He said that since March, the epidemic has led to the stagnation of production of some vehicle and parts manufacturers, the decline in market terminal consumption, and the automobile industry is facing "squeeze at both ends", which has been greatly impacted.
In view of the practical difficulties of the enterprise industry, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has strengthened monitoring and scheduling. Establish a "smooth coordination platform for the supply chain of the automotive industry chain", monitor and dispatch the production of 15 key automobile enterprise groups (the total output accounts for about 90% of the whole industry) on a daily basis, and provide a fast channel for enterprises to feedback problems. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has also established a collaborative working mechanism for provincial, municipal and county industrial and information departments to solve the demands of enterprises in a "one-stop" manner. In recent times, it has promoted the solution of more than 700 problems such as the resumption of work and production and logistics and transportation.
Xin Guobin revealed that from April 22 to 28, the average daily output of 15 key automobile enterprise groups across the country reached 45,000 units, an increase of 70% over the previous statistical cycle (April 15 to 22), and the production situation is gradually improving.
