According to previous Honda's forecast, Honda will introduce the new generation honda Civic, pure electric HR-V, new generation CR-V, and a Hybrid SUV positioned between HR-V and CR-V for the European market in 2023. Among them, this car between HR-V and CR-V should be the recently unveiled AMERICAN HR-V.
Although the AMERICAN HR-V continues the name of the HR-V car series, it has a different product positioning from the Japanese and Eurasian markets.
Based on the Civic, the American model not only has an enlarged wheelbase and width, but also has a more sporty design in appearance. It is worth mentioning that, as far as the available information is concerned, the power system of the AMERICAN STANDARD HR-V is expected to be the same as the current US Standard Civic, providing two power options of 2.0 liters of natural suction and 1.5 liter VTEC turbine, but if the US STANDARD HR-V will be introduced to Europe as a Hybrid hybrid, then this enlarged version of HR-V based on the Development of the Civic will also have a great chance of using the same hybrid system as the Civic e:HEV.
If this is the case, then according to the information released by the Civic e:HEV in late March 2022, it seems that the enlarged version of the HR-V e:HEV will likely use a dual motor with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine configuration, giving it a combined power output of 135kW (about 181 hp). This power output performance is much more ferocious than the current European HR-V e:HEV (131 horsepower) with a single motor + 1.5 liter gasoline engine configuration.
