A hammer final word: FAW Toyota fully promotes toyota's "carbon neutrality strategy" to land in China

At present, the carbon dioxide emissions of road traffic on the mainland are nearly 750 million tons, accounting for about 7% of the country. According to public data, the number of cars in mainland China in 2021 is 302 million, of which fuel vehicles account for 97.2%, and the annual consumption of gasoline and diesel is about 260 million tons.

To achieve the goals set by the Paris Agreement, countries and industries are accelerating the green, low-carbon transition and innovation, and the automotive industry is no exception. As a responsible multinational automotive group, Toyota Motor Corporation has been challenging zero CARBON dioxide emissions by promoting electrification and fully promoting the goal of "carbon neutrality".

FAW Toyota's "Qing Family" has achieved remarkable results in energy conservation and emission reduction

As an important starting point for achieving the goal of "double carbon", the development of new energy vehicles has become the only way for the transportation industry to "save energy and reduce emissions". As a transitional mode between fuel vehicles and pure electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles have a special contribution to the development of the industry and energy conservation and emission reduction at this stage, and their role should not be underestimated.

As a world-class automobile group, Toyota believes that "energy conservation and emission reduction" should reduce the carbon dioxide emitted by the car rather than the engine. Related studies have also shown that for every 1% reduction in fuel consumption of automobiles, carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced by 750 tons. Since Toyota launched the world's first mass-produced hybrid model in 1997, Toyota has sold more than 20 million electrified models worldwide, reducing fuel consumption by 65 billion liters and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 160 million tons.

As Toyota's first joint venture in China, FAW Toyota has been rooted in the Chinese market for 18 years and is committed to contributing to China's energy conservation and emission reduction through a full range of environmental protection technologies.

As early as 2005, FAW Toyota became the first car company in China to mass-produce hybrid models by introducing Toyota's first gasoline-electric hybrid model, the Prius, creating a precedent in the domestic hybrid market. Relying on Toyota's strong electrification technology reserves, FAW Toyota has successively launched a number of heavyweight models such as Corolla Dual Engine, Asian Dragon Dual Engine, RAV4 Dual Engine, LaLorra Dual Engine E+, RAV4 Rongfang Dual Engine E+, Yize IZUA Dual Engine, Crown Land Amplifier, Lingfang HARRIER, etc., and has become the leading force in the hybrid market. Since 2005, FAW Toyota has sold more than 350,000 electrified vehicles in the Chinese market.

Nowadays, FAW Toyota's "Qing family" has realized the comprehensive coverage of HEV dual engine, PHEV dual engine E+, E-engine, hydrogen engine and other power forms, and the construction of new energy vehicle factories is also accelerating. With the continuous growth of FAW Toyota's "Qing Family" and the addition of pure electric product lines, FAW Toyota will continue to lead the industry in energy conservation and emission reduction, and hand over more dazzling report cards.

bZ4x is the "starting gun" of FAW Toyota's entry into the pure electric market

At last year's Toyota Electric Vehicle Strategy Conference, Toyota announced plans to invest $35 billion in electric vehicle development, expecting to sell 3.5 million electric vehicles per year in 2030, and released 16 pure electric concept models at the meeting, officially announcing its entry into the pure electric vehicle market. As an important overseas market for Toyota, China will become an important driving force in the process of Toyota's electrification transformation.

In the face of the arrival of the general trend of the development of pure electric vehicles, FAW Toyota continues to exert its electrification on the basis of its first-mover advantage and actively promotes the brand's new energy strategy to rise in an all-round way. According to the plan, by 2025, all FAW Toyota's models on sale will be electrified, bringing more green and low-carbon travel options to consumers.

In terms of pure electric vehicles, as the first model under the e-TNGA platform, FAW Toyota has adopted the bZ4X as its "starting gun" for the pure electric market. The "bZ" of the bZ pure electric series means "beyond Zero", that is, "beyond zero emissions", which shows Toyota's independent thinking on emission reduction and carbon reduction.

In the future, Toyota will launch 15 BEV models worldwide, of which the bZ pure electric exclusive series plans to launch 7 products and will introduce 5 models to the Chinese market. As the first pure electric product built by FAW Toyota based on the e-TNGA platform, the bZ4X will be officially launched this year.

The bulls go hand in hand, and FAW Toyota is tens of millions of magnitudes up

In 2021, under the impact of repeated epidemics and chip shortages, the domestic automobile industry is facing severe challenges, with an increase of only 4.4% year-on-year. Faw Toyota is one of the few three joint ventures to achieve positive growth among the top ten joint venture automakers in China. According to the data, FAW Toyota's annual sales in 2021 will be 860019 vehicles, an increase of 8% year-on-year.

Among them, the sales volume of the SUV family reached 283523 units. The RAV4 Rongfang family sold 203,410 units in 2021, an increase of 17% compared to 173383 units in 2020; the Crown Lufang family has sold 25,173 units since its official launch in August 2021; and the small SUV Yize family has sold 47,011 units in 2021.

In the car segment, the Corolla family sold 330,280 vehicles in 2021, while The Asia Dragon sold 123525 units in the whole year, an increase of 11% year-on-year, continuing to lead the brand upwards.

While SUVs and cars go hand in hand, FAW Toyota's "Dual Engine Family" has accumulated sales of 201597 vehicles throughout the year, TNGA product sales accounted for 89%, and "Qing Family" sales accounted for more than 23%, faw Toyota's new energy transformation and high-end road can be described as a victory.

With the official introduction of bZ4X to the market, coupled with the successive launch of Electrification products such as Rongfang Dual Engine E+ and Yize Dual Engine in 2021, FAW Toyota's "Qing Family" will achieve full coverage of Dual Engine (HEV), Dual Engine E+ (PHEV), E-Engine (BEV) and Hydrogen Engine (FCEV) and other power forms in 2022, fully promote toyota's "carbon neutrality strategy" in China, and become an important force to help the mainland achieve the goal of "double carbon".

As of October last year, FAW Toyota has completed the landmark achievement of producing and selling 9 million vehicles in 18 years. Standing at a new starting point, under the guidance of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality", and in the next journey of embracing electrification, FAW Toyota is striding forward. (End)
