Wu County Tang Yin Book
Tang Yin (1470-1524), also spelled Bohu, later changed to Zi Wei, was a Ming Dynasty painter, calligrapher, and poet.
At the age of thirty, he entered the Beijing club to take the exam, was deposed by the case of the test, and his wife remarried, and his life was bumpy. Later, he traveled to the famous mountains and rivers, and was famous for selling literary paintings. In his early years, he studied painting with Shen Zhou and Zhou Chen, and the patriarchal Li Tang and Liu Songnian integrated the northern and southern schools of painting, with fine brush and ink, sparse layout, and beautiful style. The figure painter inherits the tradition of the Tang Dynasty, with bright and elegant colors, beautiful posture and accurate shapes; he also works freehand characters, with simple and meaningful pen, which is interesting. His paintings of flowers and birds are longer than ink freehand, free and elegant. The calligraphy is strange and handsome, taking the fa Zhao Mengfu. In the poem, together with Zhu Yunming, Wen Zhengming, and Xu Zhenqing, he is called "the four talents of Wu Zhong". In painting, together with Shen Zhou, Wen Zhengming and Qiu Ying, they are called "Wumen Four Families", also known as "Ming Four Families". Tang Yin's works include "Riding a Donkey and Thinking of Returning", "Mountain Road Songsheng Map", "Shi Ming Tu", "Wang Shu Palace Prostitute Map", "Li Duanduan's Fall of The Book", "Autumn Wind Fan Map", "Dry Maple Partridge Map" and other paintings, which are stored in major museums around the world.
Tang Yin's calligraphy originates from Zhao Mengfu's integration, the style is rich and flexible, handsome and beautiful, and the representative work is "Falling Flowers Poetry Book".
Wang Shizhen commented in the "Draft of the Mountain People of Yizhou": "The Book of Bohu entered the Temple of Wuxingtang, and the ear was weak. "He studied Zhao Mengfu, Li Yong, Yan Zhenqing, and Mi Fu in general, and showed different emphases at different times, thus forming a changing stage appearance. In general, the changes in his style can be divided into four periods.
The first period was before the age of 30, he lived in his hometown suzhou, and Wen Zhengming of the same age was good friends, very influenced by Wen, so the two calligraphy and painting were very close, Tang Yin's 20-year-old painting "Huang Maozhu Xiaojing Picture Scroll" (Shanghai Museum collection), lake stones, flat slopes, trees are very similar to Wen's fine pen; calligraphy is also from Zhao Mengfu, all knotted and beautiful, with a beautiful pen, Tang Yin's "Gaoren Deep Hidden Map" on the paragraph, very similar to Wen Zhengming.
The second period was 30 to 36 years old, Tang Yin was deposed, his wife divorced, helpless to make a living through poetry, calligraphy and painting, at that time the calligraphy chased the Tang people, and strived to standardize, Youzong Shangyan Zhenqing's calligraphy, with a pen dignified, round and fleshy, the knot body is rectangular, strong and dense, dot painting horizontal and vertical thickness, and absorb the law, the horizontal pen ends like "silkworm head", and the pen is close to the "swallowtail" in the middle of the pen, extremely powerful, such as Tang Yin's "Falling Flowers Poetry Book" composed by Tang Yin at the age of 36 in Hongzhi Yi ugly (1505).
The third period was 37 to 45 years old, Tang Yin was in his prime, living in Taohua'an, concentrating on poetry and painting, and his creation reached its peak. At that time, the calligraphy returned to Zhao Mengfu and chased after Li Yong of the Tang Dynasty, thus forming its own mature style, based on the handsome and graceful Zhao body with a beautiful and graceful body, and the flow of the Zhao body with a pen and a beautiful pen, and integrated into Li Yong's oblique and long character posture, powerful brushwork and vivid cloth posture. There are many works of this style, which were written in the first year of Zhengde (1506) at the age of 37 in the "Seven Verses of Poetry Axis" (collected by the National Palace Museum in Taipei), the 30-year-old "Mountain Road Song Sound Map Axis" (collected by the National Palace Museum in Taipei), and the "Three Absolute Scrolls of Xingshu" (Ding Nian Xianzang) and other works, all of which show the appearance of Zhao Mengfu and Li Yong.
The fourth period was the death of 46 to 54 years old, which was already tang yin's later years. From the king of Jiangxi Ning pretending to be crazy and fleeing back, to further see through the world, calligraphy has also become spontaneous, and absorbed the style of writing that Mi Fu seeks to take the momentum, uses the pen quickly and vigorously, calmly and happily, strikes out on all sides, is frank and free, pursues strength, speed and charm; at the same time, integrates the brushwork of all families, so that the knot body and the use of the pen are full of changes, and reach the state of free swing. Representative works include the title of the "Old Picture Axis of Xizhou Dialect" (collected by the National Palace Museum in Taipei) composed after the age of 50, and the title on the "Scroll of seeing the Spring and Listening to the Wind" (collected by the Nanjing Museum).
